Bunny bunny bunny!

Just a random observation:
Over the past week I have noticed an influx of "bunny-hopping" gamers connecting to TG servers.

It's frustrating for sure. Especially since I know I would be harder to kill if I engaged in the bunny-hop myself (with FPS being my favorite game genre I actually have to surpress the urge to hop when I'm in close combat fighting).

I know I should report them to an admin, though sometimes it's hard to stop and take the time to contact one while trying to overrun an objective, or lead a squad for a flag defense.

Anyway, it's just an observation and not a complaint. Because if I don't take the time to stop and contact an admin it would be wrong for me to complain

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

Sometimes, I might make a jump, then drop to prone when running in on a few guys, but I don't know of that is really considered bunny hopping.

What exactly defines bunny hopping in most peoples books?

Come on Come on. I can dance all day (Jumps up and down). BOOM HEADSHOT.

After the famous rule number 6 I have not seen a lot of bunny hoppers. I am glad for the rule number 6.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

I believe it is against TG rules to jump and immediately go prone. It gives an unfair advantage due to the individual being prone while still in the air (so you are extremly difficult to hit) and you can still hit as accurately as if you were prone on the ground while still falling to the ground from your jump.

I don't approve of it. If I go prone..I go prone. I don't jump first. Now if you jump once, land, and then go prone...that's fine. Just don't prone while you are still in your jump.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

There is no rule against jump/prone. In fact, I believe this is how you do a 'roll' in the game.

Crack jumping/bunny hopping, of course, is against our rules.

I asked this question in a thread and I was told you just strafe and prone...the role is just an asthetic thing for others to see.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

Rolling is strafing+prone, isn't it? As for jump+prone, I think that should be outlawed. It gives the enemy the advantages of 1: Having prone accuracy, and 2: Being extremely hard to hit because they're falling, but laying down. Diving is different, if you run and jump+prone into cover then that's perfectly fine in my book atleast.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

Ah, could be. Nevertheless, there is no rule against jump/prone.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

No rule then...I must be thinking that it was the general consensus of the members on the thread talking about this issue that said it shouldn't be done and is a 'low' move.

LOL

There should be a night where everybody plays GR to get rid of the bunny syndrome.

Re: Bunny bunny bunny!

As there is no rule against the jump/prone, could we make one?

+++edit
to clarify I have no problem with jump/prone when used, for example, when you are diving over an obstacle to avoid fire. Sprint, jump over it, hit the deck, safe. Like a forward leap. What I do have a problem with is when people are stationary, jump up and go prone as they fire on you, and when they hit the ground, stand up and repeat.

I find no issue with the jump/prone. I know players that do this repeatedly, and I have no problem forcing their respawn.

As a sniper, you want to shoot where their head WILL be.

As a support, you want to strafe the ground where they WILL land with controlled bursts.

You'd also do well to crouch and switch to a sidearm if they are very close.

Yeah, usually i'll jump and right as I'm abotu to hit hte ground I'll go prone to get better accuracy. Most the time I just charge in to the enemy or flank them, so I really don't do it often anyway. Only when I am against multiple enemies like a whole squad I just happen to run into.

Certain infractions like this that may not pose a great problem at the time to be reported over teamspeak should still be reported. However, the easiest thing to do so as not to stop your play is to write the player's name down. After the round is over or when you're done for the night, log into the forums and PM an admin with the players name and the infraction.

Simple PMs like this help us address and track repeat offenders. If it's never reported, it's never a problem.
