If you meant 40 KB up, then your cable is about 320Kb up, which is above average without paying extra.

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
Yes, I was speaking in Kilobytes not bits. Yeah it isnt' bad, but when you run a website that focuses on videos I need more bandwidth up to update my site heh. I am hoping for Fiber (verizon fios) to get to my curb soon. I can get 5 mbps down 2mbps up for $50. I can't wait man..
Oh, and another video is in the works with some more action. Can i get some music suggestions? Need somethign fast paced, metal of some sort usually works well. |

Can't watch at work drunken, but I'll check it tonight.
Don't forget everyone, I made that last one at 5 am in a quickness cause I wanted to get it out. My other ones should be much more polished. |

Well done, I liked it. Sent the link to a fellow gamer here at work, he's a big BF:V fan. Be good to use to show what BF2 looks like / feel of it.

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
Yeah I'd definitely like to see more of the same... I downloaded FRAPS last nite and tried to grab some vids but my framerate drops to about 20 when I start recording so I don't know if that'll work. I had some potentially cool videos though, including an attack helo spawning on top of a BH, and the BH taking off (with the attack still on top), only to crash into the hill. And of one of my squaddies doing a suicide leap off a giant cliff in a buggie on Fushe. But the frames were too low and it was pretty choppy.
![]() Thinking about TG videos though, I think 2 general 'categories' of shots that would capture the essence of TG would be 'Action' and 'Teamwork'. Especially as a SL when I'm hanging back, I'd love to get some movies of my squad set up as a solid fireline, suppressing an assault, with medics healing those that get killed and supports giving them ammo. Also vids of us attacking in tight formation and overcoming a solid defense would be kickass. And when in a helo or other vehicle, I think the 3rd person perspective using 'C' could provide some really cool shots of Action too. I have a AMD 2600+, ATI AIW 9700 Pro (that's somehow working again), and 1 gig of ram running 800x600. I'll see if I can step down the detail settings to get it working though. Any idea what the bottleneck would be on this setup? I'm thinking CPU but don't really have any exp encoding...

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
I would say its the ram mostly, but the processor will play a role in that as well. Bump up to 2 gigs or 1.5 ram and I think you'll be ok. I am also running low settings remember. Also, I began recording at half size and not full size and that makes a difference.
I am actually quite surprised mine runs so smoothly with my specs. Anyone want to donate a new vid card for me? Anyway, I still need some song suggestions for my next video. I have some decent footage, but tonight I'll be filming the 1stMIP in action. Beat, real heavy fighting can get hard to record without getting smoked and get a good shot at the same time which is the reason I don't have tons of heavy action fighting in the first one.

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
Yeah, I'll get on that tonight trooper, yes it records sound. I could just release it with just the game sound and talking, but it doesn't blend smoothly is the prob, but Fraps does record with all sound including mics.

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
Download Fraps here:
http://www.fraps.com/download.php Open it up before you load the game and set up everything. Press the button you set up to start recording It will then save to the directory you specified or under the Fraps directory(it normally saves sounds too) Open up the wmv files in your movie editing program of choice --windows movie maker --Adobe Premiere w/e Load up slice and compile. With premiere you can add on audio channels and I've never really used windows movie maker but its pretty simple too. You normally save after this point, but whatever I do sound always gets ****ed up with not matching the video and the encoding sucks for me... AV probably knows something I don't |

Re: Video: Tactical Gamer Raw (from last night)
Framerate doesn't stay absolutely at one framerate when you record and the sound just records normally. But when it plays back the framerate stays constant but the sound won't match.
I think I know what I'm talking about. |
