Re: How do you choose a squad to join?

Well the first thing I always do is join a squad that looks interesting and see if the SL has any orders issued. If the SL can't even be bothered to do this one thing I bail immediately. Otherwise I just look for some of the people I know and enjoy hanging with.

Re: How do you choose a squad to join?

I look for someone I can hide behind who doesn't mind catching bullets for me while I shoot people at 5ft with my M203 and snipe people at 1000 yds with my AT4 while hopping up and down and going prone in midair repeatedly.

7. Criticism: [FDB]Raub, MEC FDB squad leader. For doing almost nothing constructive with your squad. I know, I joined it. You played as sniper, and never gave your squad orders or objectives or led them in almost any way. Go do that on the pubs, pls.

I like specialized custom squads like ARMOR, AIR, or BLACKHAWK. You should try starting your own custom squad and invite people. As squad leader you get your own commander screen to request UAV or SUPPLIES at your squads target area which can be a huge advantage. Its a great way to back up the commander as well.

Re: How do you choose a squad to join?

a) Look for familiar names, SL's or members you've played with before and had good games
b) Select each squad in turn and and look at the positions on the map. A squad whose members are concentrated in one area is going to be a better teamplay squad than one with guys all over the map.
c) Avoid squads with lots of snipers.
d) Make sure the SL isn't AFK (constantly dead)
e) Avoid AH and jets, unless thats your thing

Re: How do you choose a squad to join?

It's all about the names I know. If I see a squad lead by Tarpan, Bommando, B, Wulfyn, Dirt013, etc. (am sure I'm forgetting other good SLs here), I'll jump right in. Usually, those squads are already full, though :-( So I look for squads where I find good people I played with before.

If I don't find any good squad, and on maps where Air support is important (Kubra Dam, Clean Sweep, Zatar Wetlands, Dalian Plant, etc.), I'll check whether the enemy planes are flying. If the enemy is flying, and we are not, I'll create an "Air Sup" squad, and get going.
