Re: Bunny Hopping?

ive never been much of a bunny hopper but i will always jump behind some cover where nessasary, having disapline when using the jump function does make you amuch better player in the longrun, trust me, i joined some random public server the other day and still adhere to the rules of tg, you dont realise how good you begin to get untill you see the competition on other pubs,

You should try and avoid that. Jumping, even once, while reloading/out of ammo is the main thing the rules state not to do.

Re: Bunny Hopping?

Even seeing someone jump once annoys me and I am sure lots of others.

Re: Bunny Hopping?

I just want to point out that sometimes I have to 'jump' to clear the crawl run-speed bug I posted about earlier - I only have to do it once, then it clears.. So if you see me get off the ground from prone, then jump once, I am NOT bunny hopping!!

Re: Bunny Hopping?

I jumped once and am still remorseful. It was a moment of panic after I realized I just engaged in a CQB with IronClaw's 203 - I believe anyone who's ever witnessed his 203ing skills knows what I'm talking about. Of course I died and apologized to him for that ****ty jump. The thought of IronClaw not seeing my apology still haunts me though!

Still, there's a whole lot of server regulars who do it most of the time they come under enemy fire.

Re: Bunny Hopping?

Eh, ive been known to jump on a rare occasion out of reaction, but it is mainly the people that do it regularly.

Why exactly is that not bunnyhopping? Isn't that the definition of it? :P

Re: Bunny Hopping?

It is lame, but it IS a reflex for some. I played CS and NS for YEARS before coming to TG, and some habits are hard to break. I don't do it often (because I've always thought it was lame... but when in Rome...), but there have been times I've done it and didn't even realize it until a minute or so later. So, I'm working on it. If I get kicked, I guess that's just reinforcement to keep on working.

Thank you.
As someone who's played counterstrike for years I beg to differ. Any repeated rection to a common situation becomes a reflex action at some point. Jumping around like a crack hoe in counterstrike is the norm, and thus i still have to fight myself from jumping when i get shot. Sometimes in the heat of a firefight hitting the jump key once before realizing what going on is completely reflex because im devoting my concentration to other tasks. Its kind of like catching a ball thrown at your face, anyone who's had it done a few times learns to get your hands up fast. Now image that the balls are so soft they dont hurt and you're told its illegal to block them. You're still going to react to them the same way for awhile until you learn to stop blocking them.

Re: Bunny Hopping?

I don't do all the times you know, its not like everytime I reload that I jump, 9 out of 10 I will run behind a corner or go prone knowing that I can get killed.
And it IS a reflex, after years of MOHAA, BF42, BFV and so on its just is a reflex to jump sometimes, but 9 out of 10 I won't so don't worry
If you find that lame, then that's your opinion, not mine

For my feel, bunnyhopping is jumping more then once when your 'runspeed' bar is empty, that is bunnyhopping for me, if a guy jumps once and his runspeed bar is still full then I won't call it bunnyhopping unless he jumps and fires GL.

Re: Bunny Hopping?

Well I think it's pretty easy to tell if it is deliberate or not. See some guy running along and no one is firing at him and he jumps for no reason. Not an issue.

2 seconds after opening up on him, and that's a problem.

Even once.

Needless to say that it is against the rules here. Sure everyone makes a mistake, and old habits are difficult to break, but without trying to sound harsh about it, maybe you can think about it as you relog back into the server.

I think we're done here.
