HLSW adds support for BF2
No administrative support yet, but you can use it to monitor and join the server, including joining the moment a slot opens up.
hlsw.org to educate yourself. The site is in transition. Let me know if you have questions.

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
HLSW will pass additional command line parameters to BF2.
I don't what, if any, parameters allow you to login automatically. If anyone knows of them, please share them in this or another thread.

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
Command line options found in a quick google:
Quote:
http://www.bf2al.com/ I have used HLSW a lot in the past for HalfLife, and will try that one first myself, but the one above here may prove more usefull to some of you, dunno. Please note that the list of command line options was from a website, which is referenced in the "Quoted By" portion of the quote. |

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
Just wanted to note how to setup HLSW for those who are new etc.
all you have to do is type in the IP and ports into the "IP/Port" field and the rest will be filled in for you automatically. IE: Type in 70.86.19.218:16567:29900 and then the rest will fill in, and you will see the following server below in your server lists. 70.86.19.218:16567:29900 TacticalGamer.com - BF2 #1 Here is the info with ports etc to add the TG servers into HLSW: 70.86.19.218:16567:29900 TacticalGamer.com - BF2 #1 67.19.26.150:16567:29900 TacticalGamer.com - BF2 #2 70.84.146.202:16567:29900 TacticalGamer.com - BF2 Private |

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
As for the Auto-login feature, my searching of the web tells me that it's not working because the latest patch by DICE broke it... and that it *should* be fixed in the next patch. Looks like we get to wait for now.
Oh, and to get past all the intro movies etc, here are some good instructions: Quote:

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2

To get it to work, open HLSW, then click on Settings->Settings->Game->Battlefield 2 (double-click on it); then under the Additional Parameters box, add the following lines: +username loginname +playerPassword loginpassword where loginname & loginpassword are, of course, your own login name & password. It works like a charm. Auto-join, and now, auto-login, what can be better?

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
Please note: auto-login should not be used for our servers, as this will cause you to continually try to login to the server with 62 players, which, assuming you are not a supporting member, will get you kicked over and over (and then banned).

Quote:
If you are a non-sm, and want to do this, just right click on the server in HLSW, click on Properties, and set the Reserved Slots box from Auto to 3. Then have some patience, or...become a supporting member (I'm still thinking about it).

Re: HLSW adds support for BF2
I was going to announce this the other day (my first day playing with 1.03 patch) but I forgot, glad someone else did first.
It works out really well, and I have never had any problems with the login or the joining, etc. I highly recomend using it... |
