Was at mates on saturday afternppn/evenin & we joined tactical gamer server 1.
Was about 50 odd in when we joined I quickly joined a squad. And for the next hour it was a case of spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, die - run here - die, spawn die spawn die Every time i spawned on squad leader i was immeadiatly gunned down by either a tank or APC there was little or no communication - the SL didnt hardly move - or give orders or request backup The team i was on got anihilated It seemed ALL the GOOD players were on other team I liked the fact it seemed every1 was in sqauds - but my first experience was not a good one I hope this was a one off - as i get my pc today & will be on all night Had such high hopes. i'll give another go again tonight - look out for Garfy, or Garfee or may go for a cool tag - but i'll post here first ;lol Last edited by Garfy; 08-15-2005 at 06:43 AM. |

Re: Slightly disappointed
Occasionally you may get a game that is not so good but please don't let that put you off!
The most important thing for me is getting in a good squad. If you are in a good squad the game is great fun. At certain times of the night there are better, more teamwork orientated players on. Don't give up though. If you join a squad that has a lot of |TG| tags in the player names then you are almost definitely going to get a decent game. Also, look at the squads that seem to always be full and look to see who the SL for that squad is. There are a number of great SL's that have created a reputation for themselves and can help you have a great game. p.s Happy 100th Post for me

Re: Slightly disappointed
lol congrats on the 100th post
I noticed only a few TG tags (mostly on other team) so may have explained But i'm certainly not put off from what i've been reading here And certainly HAVIN to get in squad is a great idea I may even try leadin squad myself (although i'll prob be worse than guy i had, lol) anyhoo - cant wait to be up n runnin - and i'll see y'all later ps - keep eye out for 101 posts from me about settings etc (i'm a techno-noob really, lol) |

Re: Slightly disappointed
Bad luck. Unfortunately this does happen, but you should definately consider trying other squad leaders before you pass final judgement. A good SL should be staying away from the battle enough to give his guys time to spawn in without getting camped.

Re: Slightly disappointed
I've had a few sessions like that but I would have to say that even the worst day on a TG server is like heaven compared to 99% of the other available servers out there.
Just having the hope for some leadership/teamwork/coordination is better than the absolutely gauranteed chaotic nature of the other servers. -Sean |

I post more than I play...then again, you have to do something during those 8 hours while at work Although if I wasn't married, I could say that my playing hours would probably be tripled or more

Re: Slightly disappointed
This may sound like common sense, but if you're in a stagnant/non-participative squad...switch squads. There are plenty of competent (even excellent!) SLs on the servers. A sure giveaway may be the total lack of communication and continuing to spawn at a point getting spammed by armor...

Re: Slightly disappointed
on squads.. I was playing on friday and joined a squad when i got in.. and they kicked me out.. i went back in and on voip they were talking about how ppl must really want to be in thier squad.. when i asked why i got kicked they said it was an exclusive squad.. i told them they should lock it but they said that was too much work.. i thought it was kinda lame personally. thier were only like 2 ppl in it when i joined.
Is this normal practice? |
