Thank you so much
Hopefully this is the right forum for BF2 related thanks.
I saw a reference to your servers posted on the Planet Battlefield forums and decided to give it a go tonight. Wow - people actually working together. No team killers. Orders from squad leaders and coordination. Hey - and my VOIP actually works, I heard people for the first time! Since this game came out my general impression is that it is being wasted with the dimwits and how unfortunate that my odds of ever playing a 32v32 game as it was intended was very low since I have little time for joining a clan (heck, I'm lucky to even play once or twice a week). I wish I had heard about this site and servers before. The only negative was when I got kicked 15 minutes in for 'excessive teamkilling or vote kick' but since the server went 64/64 and I didn't TK and like to think I did okay or well enough not to be hated, I'm assuming I was a reserve slot kick. Anyway, can't wait to get on and play again. I'm going to tell my neighbor about your site too since we've both been looking for servers to get some quality play and this is basically the best option by far. My name is AVS_Stress but the AVS is for the audio/video site www.avsforum.com where a few of us have gotten together and played. I'll let some of them know about it too since the whole purpose was to play adults (or mature individuals regardless of age) and their home theater gaming forum tends to be 30+. Sorry for the long post but I am that pumped up to find this site/servers. See you guys out there and thanks again! |

Re: Thank you so much
you probably didn't get kicked for tking or vote. your right, in thats its just the canned answer ea gives. if you keep your eyes up at the top, green admin messages scroll by. these forums have supporting members (SM's) and when they try joining in, a script kicks a random player to make room for them. so keep your eyes up when you see green and just hope its not your name! anyway, thats a likely explanation, just spam the refresh!
anyway, get familiar with the rules and standard operating procedures (SOP) forum http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefield-2-official-rules-announcements-sops/ and do your utmost to not break any of the many and minor rules of engagement this server lays out!

Re: Thank you so much
@Legato: There's no script just yet, closest we have is talking to an admin
I apologize Chris, that was probably Icky or I trying to get on at that one point. Because I remember both of us trying to join then. |

Re: Thank you so much
Hi Chris, let me be the ...err.. third to welcome you to TG
![]() Unfortunately we are stuck with the 'after the matter' message being just a generic one. We're hoping that better admin tools that have been promised to be released soon will give us control here as well. There are a number of reasons why you may have been kicked. From the sounds of your post it is unlikely that it would have been due to breaking any of the rules (although if you haven't done so I'm obliged to ask you to read them, linked in my sig). The two other main reasons are to create room for a supporting member and Punkbuster. As the guys have detailed above there is no automatic script in place as yet, although we do have in game custom messages that will explain the reasons for any action we take. However some people have also had the occasional PB problem where it just seems to boot them for no reason at all. It has happened to me before, but fortunately just the once. Glad you have found somewhere that supports your style of gaming (just as we here as glad that more like minded people have found us!). Definitely do pass the word on to people that share your opinion on how the game should be played!

Re: Thank you so much
No worries over the kick guys. I'm familiar with reserved slots and obviously paying members should get to play and not have to sit out. Plus, being without a doubt the newest guy on the server and likely one of the more recent joiners it took all of 3 seconds to figure it out (although EA's TK/vote kick message is a bit confusing).
I read over most of the stickies last night. Pretty much common sense and a thorough job at laying it out (although mining enemy aircraft/tanks at the home base is admittedly entertainng but if the rule isn't there it can get out of hand and make for an "unfun" experience for the other side). Like I said, I don't get to play all that often (and I'm in the process of changing jobs and relocating my family right now) but I can't wait to give it another shot. Really great to find a whole community and strictly admin'd servers geared to making the most of the game. |
