Revive scoring system.

Does anyone know exactly how the scoring system is working with regards to revives.

Last night I lead a squad on Sharqui. We defended the TV station, I was a medic and Arf and some other's were sniping from the roof, I must have revived them 25 times. Phalen was counter sniping very well to say the least. Anyway my questions is...Does the Killer get a kill if the dead player is revived? I know we don't lose a ticket if player is revived but isn't the overall scores of all players on the team effecting the games outcome. Ie: is the game decided on ticket count alone with no consideration for players kills.

I'm pretty sure the "killer" gets credit for a kill, but the "victim" doesn't get credit for a death if they're revived. I don't think player kills matter, just tickets, but I'm no expert.

This is correct.

Re: Revive scoring system.

Slightly off topic: I'm not sure if its good or not, but the scoring system tends to put the medics and occasionally the support classess at the top of the ladder. Like many others I would prefer the whole scoreboard to go away in favor of a "personal" performance sheet, which gave me my personal stats on each of the possible items.
Perhaps an intrepid programmer could make this a mod to the server?

Re: Revive scoring system.

There is a thing called a manual you know...

Ok here's an example

Player A kills Player B, Player A gets 2 points for that kill
Player C revives player B, Player C gets 2 teampoint for that revive
Player B simply continues where he died, no added deaths and no ticket loss to the team.

So yes, reviving means no ticket loss! I once had a total revive amount of 52 on Karkand, thus I saved 52 tickets for my team.

Re: Revive scoring system.

I looked at the scripts to verify what goes on behind the scenes. There are two states when a player is not in play. He is either critically injured (can be revived) or killed (cannot be revived). When a player is critically injured and the spawn timer runs out, his state becomes killed. At the critically injured state, the attacker gets the kill regardless. When the player becomes killed, he loses a ticket and the death counter is increased. So it is possible to get credit for a kill but the player's death counter will not increase.

Or so it would appear... but it isn't really true.

For example, you get critically injured in battle, I revive you, and we both die to a grenade. Similar scenarios happen quite often. I have 1 revive, and we have lost two tickets.

Or more commonly, I revive you and you die. I revive you again and you die again. This repeats a few times, then we both die. I have 4 revives, and we have lost 2 tickets. If you haven't killed anyone on the other team as a result of my revives, then they really haven't done anything other than wasting some of the opposing team's ammo.

Revives can be VERY helpful to a team, but they certainly don't directly equate to ticket savings.

Re: Revive scoring system.

That's a good point, icky. The same applies to the number of kills does not equal the number of tickets removed from the enemy.

Tickets mean everything and stats can be deceiving.
