i've been playin bf for 2 weeks now - played few games on TG servers and found them great

but just wondered why u dont allow unlocked weapons??

I got g3 & love it - real powerful up close - but not as accurate at long range as standard rifle

anyway - my game name is GarfyB - hope see y'all on soon

Because not everyone here plays on ranked servers to unlock any weapons. It would almost be like penalizing those folks, ya know?

All the weapons on the private server are, however, unlocked.

i can see the point - just wondered - got so used to usin g3 now hard to use anythin else -

will prob play diff class on TG servs tho

Not only does 'not everyone here' apply, I would venture to say the majority of us don't have any desire to play on a ranked server. The unlocks might be useful but they aren't worth sacrificing our playing style, which is what would happen since we would lose all modding control if our public servers were ranked.

Ranked server points are of zero appeal for most of us.

plus ranked servers attract people that play only to rack up points. i have no desire to play with anyone that cares more about points than teamplay. i hope our servers stay unranked.

I'm not sure he was requesting a ranked server or not, but the result is that any attempt to unlock weapons in an unranked enviroment means the server gets delisted by the gamespy server browser. Thus to get the unlocks you need a ranked server, which is something we feel strongly doesn't fit with our community style.

I have the medic unlock on one of my accounts and prefer it to the standard weapon, but you get used to what you have...
