Well, even without better players the USMC usually has an advantage in terms of equipment. USMC weapons are better. The M1A2 is better than the T90 - and often a CP which spawns a tank for the USMC will only spawn an APC for the OpFor. The Cobra is better than the Mi-29 and the other OpFor choppers. And I think the maps are, overall, biased towards the USMC. The only counterexample I can think of is the J-10, which I figure must have been a mistake on the part of EA.

I kust played 3 or 4 maps I think as a USMC SL. We just kept handing it to the OPFOR and MEC. Karkand was a disaster. USMC managed to get all the flags (each and every one of them). Dalian Plant was embarassing too... We held all of the CP s most of the time. Daqing Oilfields was a disaster as well... All of the maps were won my USMC by 400 ticket margin...

team inbalance is often in the USMC favour too, weither thats down to the way the server handles it or if its just the favoritism over USMC hardware/players at the time, i know i sometimes switch teams just to play with my favorite squad leaders

Re: I don't know about ya'll...

yeah, id be happy to put it down to map, especially the ones with the 2 main asset spawning cp's yet the USMC are the ones with the uncappable (which in turn gives advantage via TG rules as it is + its obviousely uncappable) not that im complaining, i win my fair share of games on both teams, i prefer the full auto assault rifles of the opfor teams but prefer the pump action shotty on the US, either way its all good fun.

edit: spelling

If they ever add the A-10 jet I'll never want to be MEC again, lol. Of course I will have to fight against the 90 other people who want to fly it also.

And the maps before that, Dalian and then Oman, were complete disasters for China / MEC as well- I know because I was CO for both of them. We really had trouble getting it together - I know some of the SL's on both those maps were frustrated because they were having trouble getting their squads to follow orders. But, props have to go to USMC for Dalian, Oman and Karard - they were incredibly aggressive in taking out command assets and keeping them down. USMC dominated each round, and I think it's due to some excellent commanding on their side. It was frustrating for everyone who opposed them, but without the bad rounds you wouldn't appreciate the good ones.

Re: I don't know about ya'll...

having played CO a few times, maps matter, weapons matter, sides matter...but what seems to matter the most (by a long shot) is competent SL's and Squad members...and having a air squad good enough to balance out air assets.

thats my 0.02$

Re: I don't know about ya'll...

Seems like the UCB's have a lot to do with it, especially in the maps Bommando feels are USMC oriented... His OpFor maps are generally equal in my experience

Zatar - Not sure why, but I'd almost put it down in the OpFor side
Cleansweep - No MEC UCB
Dragon Valley - No MEC UCB

Opfor Favoured:

Dalian - I feel this one is equal depending on the teams, but USMC UCB is offshore
Oman - USMC UCB offshore, but I've been equally whooped on both sides
Daqing - I feel this one is pretty evenly balanced
Fu She - Been on the losing side of this one on either team
Sharqi - No USMC UCB, radio tower falls and the USMC is done for, this is the only one I feel the OpFor has an advantage on
Songhua - This one seems equal to me, if not on the USMC side due to the Blackhawks
I usually try to stay on the side the server puts me on. If I can't find a squad that looks appealing and don't want to start my own, I'll try the other team if I can. Sometimes I'm on the losing team all night, sometimes I'm on the winning team. I don't usually switch teams after I've started playing..

Ya, I get the feeling we have a little problem with good squads forming on one team sometimes. People who like playing on good squads and who play well may give up and leave or possibly switch teams if the team has nothing looking good. This means that once one team has 2-3 good squads, the other team has essentially no hope.

I played on night recently (maybe Thursday?) where the teams were so unbalanced it was beyond comical. It is difficult to have fun when the other team is cruising to near-shutout victories over and over again.

Hmm... maybe squad leaders do need to be autobalanced sometimes...

Re: I don't know about ya'll...

this may be related, but i've seent he autobalance go crazy and literally have the usmc with 34 to 30... it seemed to happen all the time 2 days, and haven't noticed it since, but it was annoying, i literally got switched from chinese to the US by the server too...?

The only USMC weapon I'd call better is the M24 over that pile SVD. I prefer the MEC weapons personally, I don't like triple shot burst on the medic gun or assault, but I deal with it when I have it. I think most people would rather have full auto (up close) or single shot (for long distance).
