Re: New Ticket Bleed on maps

Very cool news. On the subject of UCBs, I would say get rid of them all together. Your whole friggen team spawns there for **** sake. If you can't defend it, you deserve to lose it. Later in the game when you've taken other flags and have a front established, yeah, you better keep someone home on "D" or you'll pay the price. It should be the same for both sides.

Re: New Ticket Bleed on maps

It makes holding flags more important than killing people. Plain and simple.

Dragon Valley was pretty fun tonight, not much flag hopping. Nice job guys, Thanks icky.

Re: New Ticket Bleed on maps

im not against the ticket bleed in these maps due to the fact that it makes flags worth it, but isnt it a big disadvantage to the attacking team unless theyre given more tickets initially? also will karkand receive ticket bleed?

I believe that when a team doesn't have a UCB it's because they start out with all of the flags and have the advantage of ticket bleed until the enemy takes a/some flags. For example, in Dragon Valley China has the advantage of starting out with all of the flags and will bleed enemy tickets as long as they hold half + 1 (with the TG map change.) But they have the disadvantage of having no UCB and they can lose their base/assets/aircraft/etc. I think that the advantages and disadvantages balance each other well and provide interesting gameplay. I think we should leave the current UCB setup as is.

I think on Clean Sweep, at least, that's the way to go. The MEC's air assets are spread over two CPs, and it would be weird trying to get them both into one UCB, and I really think that the UCBness of the air assets really needs to be balanced to make the game fun. Taking away the USMC's UCB would make the first few minutes a lot more interesting! My vote would be to turn all the assault maps into conquest except for Clean Sweep, and make that a double assault.

i agree on cleansweep, but thinking about it, i think that if the usmc's main base is a carrier, both teams should have ucb's cuz i mean... you won't take a carrier as an invading force :P

anyway, i think the argument of "well, its even kuz they start out with all the cp's" is kinda going too far. its nigh impossible to hold on to those with a competent opponent. i just hope it all works out, otherwise, we will have half of the community that have had favorable games voting to keep it, and the other half voting to scrap it :\

Sweet, though I really liked the 32 player maps.

To my knowledge, each map that this occurs on, the attacking team DOES have more tickets to start.

The one thing that really annoys me about 1-sided UCB maps is that the defending force, despite having the initial ticket bleed, generally has less tickets at the start. This happens on some 2 UCB maps as well, something I'm not a fan of. Equal tickets for all is what I say! Vote Tarpan 2005.

Isn't this to counteract the initial ticket bleed?

Indeed, and it's a good thing. I watched the first run of Dragon Valley last night.. The USMC had more tickets to start, but were bleeding. By the time they captured half of the CPs, the tickets were close to equal, so it worked out fine. The only thing that was left one-sided was the fact that the Chinese did not have a UCB.

Re: New Ticket Bleed on maps

Alright guys, I have updated Operation Clean Sweep. Ticket bleed will occur when one team holds at least 4 CPs.
