Division for European Players

I just thought I'd throw the idea out there to our European gamers about creating a new TG division specifically for European players. Just like the 7th, 42nd, 1st, 2nd etc.

I noticed a lot of Euro players lament that the servers are often less populated during Euro peak times.

A great way to get more people interested in playing together and in a cohesive squad would be to start a division and work together in regular teams with the TG tag. Not only will it improve your play on TG servers, but if you ever join a Euro server, you can squad up together there too. Also, you could arrange practice times on the private server during times that are more convenient for you, so you can get the benefits of drills and practice, but don't need to stay up until 4AM to do it.

The divisions encourage teamwork and might incentivise more Euro players to get online to play with your team.

I would not be involved, but I invite Euro players to discuss the options.

Yes... yes.

I am sure that are Americans out there who has a day off to play with you if the server is populated... It is gonna be hard to get things rolling... But once the sight of populated TG server during those times will get US and EURO players to be accustomed to a populated server and it will become habit...

It is these first initial couple of weeks that might be hard...

Also to step up to fill commander positions, SL positions and do those with pride... More fun you provide more people will be drawn to come back more and more.

Re: Division for European Players

Good Idea!

We will start with one division, and make more if we need to.

Let's call it division A for now, we can choose a better name later.
If you are interested let me know, and I'll edit your name in this post!

Division A

Re: Division for European Players

I think that you could quite easily do with one division to start and see how much response you get. Then you could expand as the need arises. Just a suggestion. Whoever is interested in starting a SM-only division could make one here on TG, or if you want to include non-SMs, you could start one on Tactical Conflict.

Either way, PM Apo to express your interest.

Re: Division for European Players

To clear things up I want to mention that the goal of our division will be to play with the same people to encourage better teamplay.
Nothing more, nothing less. You put the tag before your name, and we will join up whenever we find each other on the server.

Re: Division for European Players

I'm up for it but can't play as much as I want. Busy with RLstuff unfortunatly and still the community I'm comes first. But it would be an honour to help out.

Re: Division for European Players

I would suggest:

Someone (anyone) PM Apophis and ask for a forum on tactical conflict.
Someone (anyone) go to the BF2 ladder section of tacticalconflict and start a TG Euro team - I'd suggest opening a team for 8 and 16 player ladders first.

Once you have done that come back here, and post it up. Give people the links to the forums and the ladders, and ask them to sign up / join up. Get them to send a PM to you and distribute the password to them. I'll sticky it for you for a while, and also add it to the squads information I am collecting.

This way you can organise yourselves in that forum, and use the ladder to arrange matches. You can even do me a favour and invite the teams you find to play to the ladder, and get them signed up.

You already have some fantastic guys and very willing opponents in the form of DeadMenWalking (DMw). I was on their server last night, and they are very good guys, with pretty much the same ruleset and mentality as us here (which is why I think that I like playing there and they like playing here). Also Sinister_NL has his friends, the ghosts as scrim opponents.

Thanks for the intell!!
I just "spoke" to Apophis and we seem to agree that its a bit early to be joining a ladder... by my count we now have 3 1/2 palyers...
When were somewere between 5 -10 players and are on the server playing together regualry we can start to think about somthing like ladders. But untill then its going to be hard to even get started.

Edit: I guess if we put on the tag (what i came up with was just a random name, if anyone comes up withsomthing else thats ok ), that may inspire others to join aswell.
