Supporting member game tonight

Hadn't seen or heard anything on this so I'm just wondering what was planned for tonight. Are we going to use server 2 with the tactical mod and no password? AAS mod w/ a PW?

Personally I'd like to get another good turnout for the tactical mod to fine tune it even further.
What do you guys think?

I haven't really gotten to play the AAS mod much yet. I'd like to try it. Then again i haven't gotten that much of a tast of the infantry game(besides sniper) in the tactical mod either so either one and i'll be happy.

This difference in playing preferences is why I think one of the two events should have been moved to a different night in the first place. The SM-only nights were a blast in their own right; the Tactical Mod is great and continues to evolve. However, as the situation currently stands, you can do either one or the other (or both halfheartedly) since they're on the same night. In my opinion, having one on Mondays and the other on Thursdays would have made more sense.

I thought that the past 2 sessions were just special times for testing the mod - did not think it was going to become a regular thing.

I'd prefer to play on the private server just because of the unlocks. Mod or no mod.

Is AAS currently on the private server? I think either option would be a nice change of pace.

That would mean only two iterations of changes to the mod with full stress testing. I know there are more changes planned than that (and I can't wait to see them).

Well, yea, I know Duke is busy doing new stuff by looking at the Wiki logs.. I just mean that I didn't think that the Monday test sessions were becoming a regular thing. If Duke needs us to test stuff out, then I figured there would be a special announcement...?

I wouldn't be against making one of the password nights a tactical mod night instead. We play the PW nights because we want the better teamwork and it seems like the tactical mod just enhances that.

Re: Supporting member game tonight

We used the past two Mondays to play-test the Tactical Mod because we were counting on the SMs to show up on Monday anyway. It's not planned for the Tactical Mod to replace the SM private night and hence, there was no announcement for tonight.

The Tactical Mod is currently on Server #2 still and open for anyone to play on any night. We just need to get people together. Maybe I'll post an announcement to get some together for this Thursday.

asch, you guys are gonna get the best test results when you have a full contingent of players. Having a regularly scheduled night (like Thursdays) for Tactical Mod tests would allow people to plan it into their schedules, and it would give you and Duke a week each time to collect feedback and make new enhancements in time for the next scheduled playtest. I think it'd be a great idea to put it up on the TG calendar -- you could also have a link to the Tactical Mod Wiki page (which, of course, has the Mod's download link) in the calendar event description.

Re: Supporting member game tonight

I personally enjoyed the AAS mod more than the Tactical Mod, but that's just my opinion. Overall I am enjoying the private server nights a heck of a lot more than the regular "general server" nights, passworded or not, so I look forward to a good match tonight.
