Remember the Medics...
I had my faith in medics completely renewed today. Here's the story.
I was in Santa's squad on the 32p version of Dragon Valley today, and we were defending the Hill Village (directly north from the PLA main, the CP that has a fixed TOW emplacement next to a pavillion type structure). One point in the game, we get hammered by artillery. I find myself dead as usual, but it was only an indirect hit by the artillery, so I'm only critically wounded and staring up at the sky. I'm looking up from the ground right next to the TOW emplacement, right next to the pavillion structure. I'm thinking a couple medics should be around, so when I notice the medic symbol on my minimap getting closer I rejoice. Soon I see TWO medics standing above my body. Now here's the catch. They both have their backs turned to me and are jumping up and down constantly, side by side, shockpaddling something out of my view. I become a bit perplexed and upset, since I'm assuming they're either playing around, shock paddling each other, or shock paddling Santa on the TOW emplacement for fun, while I'm here dead on the ground. I suddenly get revived. And I find I'm on the pavillion roof. The medic in my squad goes "whew, I got him." Apparently, my body had been on the roof, while my viewpoint was still on the ground, and those two medics had been feverishly jumping up and down trying to paddle my body back to life. (Okay, stop laughing at my horrible graphics already)(Congrats to seppy for being the first I've seen perfecting the technique of jump-padding just for me, even though I parachuted onto his head on the previous map.) So here's a heartfelt thanks to all the medics that constantly are working their paddles. Thanks to all the medics that dive off buildings or cliffs after their squadmates' bodies, or those that dash through artillery untouched to save their squaddies. Thanks. We sky-gazers appreciate it. Remember to, at the very least, give your medics the "Thanks champ" that they deserve when you are revived.

*laughs at crappy graphics*
Been playing alot of medic lately and a "Thanks champ" or a "Thanks, i owe you one" goes a long way. I enjoy playing the fearless guy with the paddles, rushing though artillery, APC fire, and reviving people while a foot away from a tank .

Re: Remember the Medics...
I love medics, as long as they do 3 things:
Revive when possible, WITHOUT just getting killed instantly Drop medpacks, you dont have to run after someone, just drop a pack or two and you'll be thanked for life. Dont just go around reviving people just for the points...

Heh.
Yeah, I was the other medic there. You were on the roof with just one leg hanging from the knee down. You may be the first person revived from shock paddles on the sole of your boot.

Re: Remember the Medics...
Has there been slightly fewer medics about lately or is it just me? Or are we getting better at guarding dead bodies and hunting down medics? I don't know. I also feel like when I play medic now, my oppurtunities for succesful revs are fewer and farther between.
I don't mean to say it's a problem; I just think our tactics in general have evolved to the point where we know that until all six men are dead, an one of them can grab a medkit and start revving - and we adjust accordingly. Anyone else notice this?

Re: Remember the Medics...
That was probably |TG-1337th|Seppy that revived you. I hadn't played with Sep much until we joined the same squad. That guy is one helluva medic... he's everywhere, all the time. Often times its the two of us 'playing doctor' on the same squad, and he gets 90% of the revives. I only get the chance to use my paddles when he's the one that's down
![]() He's normally awesome, but he was especially on fire last night on Oman. Wow!

Re: Remember the Medics...
Haha, I was in that squad too. I was standing just a little to the left of where you're looking in your screenshot. That was really funny watching those two jump contstanly with the paddles trying to get you. I just about cracked up when I heard him say "Whew, I got him." over VoIP.
Also, about the same time while we were defending that CP someone in our squad said it looked like I had no gun (when I really did) and we wanted to take a screenie. Who was that, and did you actually get it? (Even more arty started falling almost as soon as I stoped to pose and we both got killed) Ah, so it was |TG-1337th|Seppy who was getting all the revives the moment before me on Oman. He is good.

Re: Remember the Medics...
Medics are the aggressive SL's best friend. There's nothing better than going down and seeing two medics rush over to bring you back.
![]() JMJ please note my kill in the screenshot posted above. ![]()
