Noob In Action

I have had a hard time trying to find a decent place to play as a noob. Not everyone can start out as an awesome gamer when they are new to this type of play. Just wanted to let everyone know that I dont have all the tricks up my sleeve as a good gamer but am willing to give it my all. I enjoy this game very much, but have had bad experiences on other servers. No one seems to give the new guy a chance to try to become a good gamer. I also would like to know alot more on this teamspeak idea, which is also new to me. Is there any hardware or software that needs to be bought or installed? Any remarks please let me know, i feel lost sometimes.

Welcome, have you played on the BF2 server?

Teamspeak is a 3rd party chat application that allows you to talk to other people. It works well with games because of its low memory footprint and ease of use.

The information to find the TacticalGamer teamspeak server is in the forums, just do a search. It's simple, free, and all you need is a microphone.

That thread also has a link to the Teamspeak server information. You will need the teamspeak client program which can be downloaded from teamspeak.org.

Welcome to TG and please read our Rules and SOP's. The links are in my sig. We here are about helping people play. We have alot of players that will take a new person and help them out. Join a squad in game and let them know you are new and they will help. Abra has a very good training session on Monday nights, give it a try.

I have played on a BF2 server, but not a TG server for same. I really appreciate all the help, it makes it a little easier to get into the whole gaming concept of BF2

Have read a majority of the material before registering, just so i knew what to expect and what was expected, and will read the rest also just to clarify anything misinterpreted. Thank you for the welcoming and am glad to be a part of this community. And I will definitely be there for the training.

Hey, all of us started at the bottom and worked our way up. Experience is the best teacher. As long as you are willing to learn and pay attention, you will get the hang of things. It is usually the guys who just join a squad and just run off and do whatever are the ones who dont last. We are big on communication and working as a team and squad. Just follow your squad leader's orders and things will start to click. Make sure you ask questions (a microphone is handy) and tryout the training sessions.

when you play on the TG servers look for a squad that has a SL name for the title or a squad with some TG players.....and let them know you are new and they will help....

Welcome to TG... The last place you will play ever...
Also i think you are referring to VOIP? in game voice chat that is built into the BF2 game... No need for any other software. Just get a mic and press B button to start talking... Gotta be in a squad though. It is going to be a blast I promise. If you have trouble with VOIP there are threads to giude you how to configure it.

2nd BCT, is that a server? Or is that a squad in the server? Just curious about how to find TG gamers, or is there designated servers everyone plays on, I just want to learn and become part of a team to have some serious fun.

I guess all i need is a mic then, i was on a public server and heard the SL but had no mic to respond. Will the mic work for the Training on the scrim server also?

Welcome SgtDFuller to TG. You've come to the right place. When I came here I had the same experiences as you. These guys are the best. I'm still not very good at the game and if they haven't kicked me out yet, you will be ok as long as you follow the rules and do your best. Again welcome to TG
