TG BF2 League: This Week's Matches and the End of Preseason

Well the final match is posted:

9 pm on Friday in TacMod at Karkand

This will conclude preseason.

From that point on we will be starting regular season. Unfortunately I have a work commitment that will minimize my involvement from the 9th to the 19th of February. But depending on the availability of our admins, we may start the season during that time.

The regular season will hold a League match

Every Sunday before the TacMod event

most likely at 7 or 8 pm starting sometime in mid February. In addition we will continue to float a match around on various weeknights.

In terms of registration and such, I'm just going to carry over all the teams and rosters from the preseason. Most squads have had several members who have not made a single match however. They may want to consider having me remove them from their roster as attendance may be more of an issue in the regular season. The air and CO divisions will be suspended until they become necessary. We will continue with the single round match format predominantly although in early extreme leads, the dominated team will get a second chance in the form of a best of 3.

I have been very satisfied with the way preseason has gone, especially after my debut match last Sunday. New features and improvements on the back-end that you guys don't see are advancing at a steady pace and the quality of the matches is starting to show that progress I think.

One thing though. You guys really, really need to do something to defeat the 42nd. This **** better not continue in the regular season is all I've got to say.

Volunteers

The key to this low-rent all volunteer League army is independent cells all able to operate separate from one another. When I can't do stuff or an admin has a hot date on match night, we need to be able to have League march on without having to wait for us to catch up. To that end we need a few more people doing over-lapping jobs.

We're looking for the following people in order of priority:

*Research & Development- Someone to analyse the EA custom ranking system and player stat tracking system and evaluate and develop its usefulness to the League. This would be the first assignment for the R&D person and other assignments in other technical areas I don't have the time to train myself in. No match admining would be required of this person.

*Match Maker- Need someone to process the match records sent to them by the admins. Update the standings and design the match-ups according to the outcome of the various matches and resend the updated League forms to the admins. No match admining would be required of this person.

*League Front Man- This guy will keep the forums up to date, resolve squad issues, and update and maintain the Wiki site. Essentially PR, they will be in charge of making sure that little lost free agents find the League sign up and that the match schedule is known throughout the land. No match admining would be required of this person either.

*Admin- Optimally this person could admin at least one match every two weeks between the hours of 8-9 EST weeknights and/or 5-10 EST weekends. There is not requirements of this position really. I usually just show my admins the schedule and they pick and choose the matches they are able to admin.

Of course you guys will all get a set of steak knives.

I'd like to volunteer for some R&D work. What has gone on so far? Or do I need to make a start myself on this?

I can only say that the 42nd is ready for this as we plan on reporting with a full squad. We can't rely on this mish mash of other squads if we truly plan on ending the preseason on a 9 & Oh tear.

Do we get ribbons for preseason champs?

Ribbons? Ribbons? More like a salary cap.

Keep your boots on cowboy, ribbons are for regualr season champs.

Preseason was to iron out the bugs. If ribbons were awarded, they'd go to the team that helped with that the most, i.e. the team that showed up back when the League was less fun and under-attended. The team with the highest attendance.

If I am correct there is a thread in your forum that should be more a testiment to your accomplishment than any ribbon could.
