Patch discussion

Just thought id tell people who aint got it yet my view on it after 20 mins of playing:

AA to damn overpowered against choppers

Everyone says the P90 sucks and the new sniper is good

You see the red tag saying "UAV" when the enemy UAV is in sight. (i would of just prefered it like any soldier where you have to point to get the tag)

8 missiles in chopper- Makes me careful and accurate with them, not a good fix if you want it easy. But i can see it is a good fix for those who dont like things too easy

Going prone takes longer- Ok..but when you stand up there is a second where your gun is in "sprint mode", probs helping to prevent bunnyhopping, but they could just have no cursor as i think it looks abit stupid.

Lots of noobs on the pubbies moaning about how they are getting pwned- Best feature

I haven't played yet but I'd like to have a longer view distance for gunners in choppers since you'll need to hang back a lot more now w/ the AA and the distance at which vehicles/players actually appear + short TV range is going to be a pain.

Yes, and its also going to mean that alot of people have to work on their flying to survive in the air. All gunners should check AA emplacements around the chopper first before looking at any apcs etc.

Any thoughts on the M203? Has the activate distance done anything to help prevent close quarters battle with it?

I entered 2 servers, 1st one was the one i tested the m203 on, it was based in chicago so i was getting a ping of over 100. So anyway i tried shooting it at a wall and it was disappearing then coming back, but that could have something to do with the ping (which will cause a prob for me on TG servers).

But i really cant judge it atm, only got about 20 mins of playing and that was my only test of it.

I'm excited to get a little challenge back in chopper flying. I just hope they didn't shorten the TV missle too much.

They could have simply made guns do damage to choppers. AA has a huge distance and choppers will probly end up dying before they can even get in fire/view range of where it's coming from.

Cool thing is, Duke and his posse can leave in the positive improvements and mod out the rest. The Tactical Mod is quite solid these days so between it and some of the improvements made with this patch I think it will become quite popular around here.

Its gotten a lot worse on pubbies...Its PURELY PKM whoring everywhere its sick, that or the L96A1 or grenades, pubbie play is totaly impossible now and noobtubing is still very much possible...
The P90 isnt bad but it should have far better accuracy and its RPM should be 900 not 600...
Statisticly the M24 and the L96A1 are identical but the sound of the L96 is pretty cool.
Support guns are now too accurate I fear, they snipe like crazy, they should indeed have been more accurate then in 1.12 but this is crazy, I was able to snipe a whole squad with a PKM without missing once...
Its also all claymores everywhere, I'm really gonna stick to the TG server now, pubbies is nothing short of impossible.

I'm still fighting to get the new patch installed.

I'm really excited to see the new features new tweaks and what not and I'm also really excited to hop on a pubbie so I can listen to n00bs cry.

Yea, the support guns are the only thing ive seen that are a lil over powered now. I still dont think its THAT bad. Its about what the tactical mod made them.

I do have to say im lovin the new AA. I was takin down jets left and right on clean sweep. I even got in a jet and was shooting jets down a LOT easier. It seems as though the air to air missiles also got improved. You really have to do some evasive manuvers to break the lock.

The noob toob arming distance couldve been a bit longer, but at least its better than it was.

The new prone is good i think.

I like being able to shoot down the UAV. Brings a whole new tactic to the game.

The medic paddles recharging when not in use is so awesome.

Tanks takin less dmg from terrain is also very nice.

All anti tank smg's are more accurate and they're very worthwile in CQC

Didnt get to check out the nerfed blackhawk, but id really like it to stay the way it is instead of the insanely nerfed one we had. They lowered the explosion factor a lot as well as damage, so itll prolly be deadly (like it should) just not insanely overpowered like it was.

Overall i think they did a good job, the only complaint would be the support guns, and even that isnt that bad. Covering fire IS supposed to keep the enemy's head down. The way it was before, it wouldn't even phase the enemy and they'd aim though the cover fire to pick you off. At least now its scary to get up in suppresive fire.

I haven't played the patch yet but this statement is entirely true. Whenever I was 'pinned down' from a support class I'd simply pop my head up and take him out with 2/3 single shots. Not even a threat. Now it looks as if we'll be more careful.

How was being in an aircraft against all the AA? Could you stay up for more than a few minutes or was it pretty devastating from the IGLA/stinger emplacements.
