Re: EA Games - Community Update 2/16/2006

I wonder if there are some guys under the EA/Dice employment that feel like the guy on the CareerBuilder commercial - "I work with a bunch of monkeys." At the EA board meeting, a graph showed how many bugs existed compaired to how many fixes were made. The monkeys turned the graph over to show how few bugs and how many fixes were made and had a party and said to release the patch.

Or in fact, perhaps they were the model that inspired the ad?

Ouch. EA/Dice are taking a beating here. They should be held accountable for the defects in their product...but at they end of day we voted with our dollars. I'm loving BF2 and don't regret the purchase even though there are flaws. Not alot of companies ship defect-free products. Microsoft has mastered this...a few people still use their products though.

Telling EA/Dice what's wrong with their stuff and that you want it fixed is good. Slagging them is bad. In my humble opinion.

Cheers.

I know i personnaly voted for EA with my money because i assumed they were competent enough to fix existing problems and not create new ones. Just because the president gets voted in doesnt mean he's always right.

AMEN on that in more ways than one.............

i think of it this way.......how long have you been playing bf2? if you cant stand ea or dice why is that? why do you even care? why not move on (or back) to a better game?

i love BF2 and ive played through the problems and had a good time (mostly due to TG).

Maybe that's true in Canadia, but here in the United States of America, Kittens, and Freedom, the President is always right.

Unless he's a Democrat.

What I love is how alot of bugs that were mentioned in the very first changelogs
EG. Red name bugs... APC's should fire thru penetrateable materials...

but even those ones got screwed up in favor of ones to help get their boosters out the door...

I think thats what EA/Dice is really looking at... not building a legacy with their game, but rather to squeeze as much money out of it as possible.... now I'm not one to argue the money aspect as tehy do run a business.... but seriously did any of their guys ever load the game? theres so many visual errors that you cant seriously miss them

Point taken. However, if you are from the Ottawa area I'm amazed you assumed competence on their part...living that close to Parliament I thought it was natural to assume incompetence! ;-)

I digress though...

No question that the flaws are irritating. All you can do is vote with your $$$.

Cheers.
