It was a pretty odd feeling when i returned to BF2 after a quite long break (0,5 year), and it was quite dissapoiting when i had used like 3 hours on installing the PoE, and i found that it was just quake 4.. all the TG ppl on the server - not mentioning names -, were not answering questions, so ill type em here instead... I found that it was gamer and not tactical, as all ran around shooting like any other BF2 server, no squad had actually the tactical part with em, maybe a little command, but not like in the good old days where u felt part of a team, -miq chat, and lots of jobs to do which made u win the war -. Instead it was just run around playing quake, and when i finally asked what was going on, nobody answered.. actually the chat was like a bad edition of CS 1,6 .. u know "enemy spotted x 10000" "****ING NOOOBS" " more spam " UR SUCH A PUSSY" and so on.... also i saw SOooooo little TG members in there, and thought.. maybe u were just on the normal server - tac mod server -, but no1 there, and neither on the locked... now im wondering, is there any 'tacticalgamer' more ? or is it just a random server, cuz then im off 0_O plz help me out here, im so confused!!

All i want is the good old public server back, where we made tactical fights, u know talking tacs over miqs, commanders giving orders, and lots of social stuff =)

POE2 can be a bit rough when it's mostly pubbies Weed. The POE2 server will be passworded this evening (see the announcements thread for the current password) and I think you'll find more of what you are looking for during that time.

POE is a pretty new mod and therefore there are alot of new players on the server. They still need time to learn the TG way. Also, try getting on in the afternoon, there are more people with the TG tag on then (I guess that is what you are looking for). Tonight is password night so drop by then, it will mostly be TGers.

PoE nights are definitely hit or miss, but Password nights (and Friday nights, when more TG regulars are on) are much higher levels of play. TG's PoE server is currently one of the top 2 or 3 PoE servers, so there's much more churn of pubbies that haven't been here before coming through, and it's harder to educate so many people. The admins are doing the best they can when players such as yourself follow the normal complaint or escalation processes. Posting threads like this in the forum does no good, as we can't correct the actions 1 day or more after the fact.

When looking for good teamwork and tactics, look for a squad headed up by a TG tag, or at least one that has some TG regulars in it.

And the next time you see activity like you mentioned in the post, please call out in TeamSpeak (you do idle in teamspeak to report offenses, right?), or at the very least alert an admin in the General Chat text.

Yep there was... i didn't know which one to post it in lol... i just needed an answer,, remove it for all i care.. anybody knows when tonight this TG gaming will happen ? im in GMT +1 (Quite a bit away from u guys), and i recently found my way back =) just post it in your time, with gmt plz =P

I share your frustration. Besides being on teamspeak, the best any of us can do in times like this is rise to the occassion. Lead by example and insist on TG play over VOIP. However ridiculous your squadmates act, this is still your server and they are the element that will be weeded out, not you WeedCow(pun intended, swish!). Be persistent, start tactically-named squads and control their membership by kicking TG-hostile players if necessary. Whatevver happens resist the temptation to sink to their level.

How long willl it take for the poe devs to start catering especially to tg? I think there is already communication between poe staff and some TG staff. I hope this continues, and increases in the future.

On the topic: If you can't find a good squad (that is not full) make one. That is why i'm SL 90% of the time on poe.

I have to chime in and say the level of play has risen greatly over the past 2 or 3 weeks or so. Lots of TGers playing the TG way and many new faces doing the same. No longer am I getting no response most of the time when I do a "squad mic check please". I'm really just looking to be sure everyone is up and communicating...lately that's been the norm and that's a good thing.

I really thought the advent of 2142 would ring the death knell for POE2. On the contrary It seems to me that game play has actually gotten better since 2142 retail came out. I'm pleasantly surprised to see a consistently filled server on POE2 most nights...

We have a lot of new players passing through our server. And yes, most of them do not play the TG way so you will definitely feel it. However, you must do what you can to bring order to chaos. If you see bunnyhopping and jihad jeeps, inform the admins. If you do not bother to get the idiots kicked off the server, then they just keep coming back to ruin the gameplay. The other thing is to make your own squad and show others how to play our way. That is the most important thing to do in order to gain converts.
