3d Max

I'm following one of the tutorials that has been posted in another topic.

The tutorial says that I need to use 3ds Max tools that shipped with the editor. As far as I can see the only thing related to 3ds Max Tools is an installer that says I need 3ds Max Tools version 5.0 before I can install.

This tool costs lots of money to use. Am i expected to pay to use 3ds Max tools??

I think if you want to create new models you need to find an app that creates them first. 3ds is the most common, but is expensive.

You can make maps w/o creating new models however.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

Re: 3d Max

GMAX support is supposidly in the works but cause its a cut down version of 3dmax (I believe) its going to take a bit longer to adapt the 3d max tools probably. Gmax is free, least last time I checked.

EDIT
Just found this which may have a bit more info on the subject but perhaps no good if you don't have MAX. Wheres the Milkshape support thats what I say :P
If you are looking for the 3D Max tools...
