Yea, I think would really be fun with a number of custom maps. Could use the BF2 maps hear and there. Actually, you could use the BF2 maps as part of the world and connect them.
An idea have Karkand and Oman be the "end points" of the campaign. Have three new maps that reside in the middle call them A,B and C. The campaign starts in B. The goal of the MEC is to drive the USMC back into the water at OMAN. The USMC is to capture Karkand and destroy the MEC army.
To make this work you might have to reduce the number of tickets/time per map but I really like the idea.
Now if I could just learn the map making.
