Yeah, that's part of my "dream" mod. Multiply all player/vehicle respawn times and commander asset reload times by four and replace all bomber jets with fighter jets. Slow the game down so we have time to think and execute smart and well coordinated tactics. The whole game is much too "deathmatchy" for me right now. Still fun, but not as fun as I think it could be if it was more, um, tactical?

I agree with you Duke, we need a way to slow down the reload time on the scan and UAV. I would love to take my time approaching an objective but you dont have the time because someone is always watching you. Same with vehicles, it should not spawn the same time you come back into the game. You lost the vechile so you should be punished by not having the vehicle right back. Nothing is worse than taking out a tank just to have the same person come back 40sec later, I think I will be do the same thing that asch is doing with his vehicles.

Tested this with jets on Clean Sweep, and it works as expected. I was able to lock each team out of the other's jets.

Gimme the nod and I can put this in place. I am already modding Clean Sweep for other reasons.

The admins are currently discussing what mods we want to make.

I think you should lock tanks aswell. Right now they are more of a threat then a help when defending a base. The problem is that after a base gets taken over, you're stuck with the locked tank. I suppose you should destroy it and then wait for you're own tank to spawn.

Another thing thats annoying is the lack of light transport vehicles. Especially on Mashtuur and Wetlands. This is because a jeep that is dumped and not destroyed takes way to long to respawn. Thats because empty, dumped jeeps have to explode and be removed before they will respawn.
Can you make dumped jeeps explode faster?

To be honest, I'd like to see them take longer. I'd like to see any vehicle take longer to explode when abandoned. Vehicles shouldn't be a waste and players shouldn't leave them stranded.

Jeeps are always ditched, when moving to and attacking a base. They aren't useful in combat.
At the same time, movement and mobility is crucial the way maps work in bf2.

I'd also like to see jeeps with six seats (or more apc's).

    (sorry, hijack)

Id kinda have to agree with that. Humvees on attack are generally used for transporting your guys quickly to a site. If you just drive right into the base, youll get eaten up by nade launchers and anything else. So best thing usually is to leave it off a bit to the side of the base you're attacking. However every other vehicle should never be ditched, because every other vehicle is an armor.

One thing I like about locking out enemy from non armored vehicles is that you can start depending on visual FoF recognition. If you see a T-90 drive up, you KNOW its an enemy. This is less of an issue for infantry most of the time, but if you're in a chopper or a situation where you don't want to wait to get the first shot off it helps.

I agree and it's one of the positive reasons to lock vehicles.

I have no problems with making this switch for all vehicles. If you capture a spawn you must destroy the existing vehicles before you can get re-inforced. It would definately add an oppurtunity for a defending squad that temporarily loses a point to return and re-take.

i reakon a good thing to add is buggys that respawn after a certain amount of time even if the one that spawned is still alive. this would particuarly be good on large open maps so that you dont have 2 worry, just jump in a buggy and go. because their mainly used for quick transport into the battle then no need to run across the map when some one takes the buggy.
