Post on Planet Battlefield about Map Download Tool

I saw this post on planet battlefield the 20 of september.

Worth checking out. It has a server version and a client version.

Auto Map Download

A budding developer contacted us with a pretty neat little prgram that aims to add an auto map downloader into the mix. Check it.

BFDL is a program that will automatically download the custom map that a server is running and then automatically launch the game and connect to the server. The program is very simple to use, works with punkbuster and does not make the loading times longer if you already have the map

Client Version

*Requires Microsoft .Net

Re: Post on Planet Battlefield about Map Download Tool

I've been following the development of this app and right now it's probably not worth hosting. It only works through all seeing eye or through direct IP connect. It also doesn't work if you're already connected.

It's definitely something to watch... just not quite ready for us yet.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer
