Tactical Mod: Remove messages on the HUD about kills
I agree with munchkin that this could be an interesting change, but I've seen both positive and negative reactions to how this was implemented in PRMM. Discuss and vote in this thread to help us decide if this should be included in the mod.

Re: Tactical Mod: Remove messages on the HUD about kills
That would be a surefire way to get me to stop playing the mod. I hated it when I tried PRMM and its the primary reason I've not been motivated to try it (PRMM) out again.

I wouldn't mind a test of this as a feature....

Re: Tactical Mod: Remove messages on the HUD about kills
I voted no. If I hadnt played PRMM I would probably vote yes.
I guess it has something to do with the social interaction. Especially for the communities like us. When you kill or are killed by someone you know and see his/her name, it adds something into the experience. Maybe a bit hard to explain but I guess it reminds you that you are playing with your gaming buddies. And lets dont forget the fun moments/kills that are mentioned in AAR section.
While playing PRMM I felt as if I am playing against AI.Last edited by John CANavar; 11-13-2005 at 04:36 PM.

Re: Tactical Mod: Remove messages on the HUD about kills
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the kill notification has only been removed from the center of the HUD; the grey notification in the middle left of the screen. You can still know who you killed and who killed you by looking at the upper left, where all kills are recorded.

That's not how it is implemented in PRMM 0.2. The stuff in the upper left is gone as well.

I voted no for the same reason the John C mentioned. I think it's great now. That's such a big part of the 'fun' factor of the game, it's instinctual to look up and see who you killed almost every time.

Well, there IS a balancing act between fun and realism. It's a game first. I think this might be pushing too far...

I have to agree with the sentiments already expressed.. I really do enjoy that extra bit of a thrill in seeing someone I love and loath get killed

I voted no. Same reason as John and Beat. Also the dead bodies don't stay there long enough for so that you can confirm a kill.
I think it would be better if we just communicated through VOIP what the situation is with casualties. We are a teamwork community after all.
