Nations At War Mod Released
Over on Fileplanet
Seems like they are doing something similar to International Conflict, and 21st Century, BUT they have also released 3 HUGE map packs (the first is 600+mb).This is the Nations at War Mini Mod for Battlefield 2. This MOD has been developed to modify the orignal Battlefield 2 to make both sides even. This is the latest MOD used in our tournament Updated and made much much better.
About the mod:
NaW started about a hr after the tools were out in august last yr the first release came out that weekend, first we tweaked all the vehicles added weapons and it just grew from there we needed balance for our tourney Almost everything is balanced with the opposition to make thing completely fair.
We also needed to do something about the air superiority issues in Battlefield 2 as I was able to fly for 8 hrs during battles with out getting shot down.
Our latest release 3.8 took care of that with our own grail and stingers that hunt down even the best pilots in the game mounting air to air on our Helo variants and even mounting AA to a pick up truck for fast moving AA capability's.
All in all we have had a very good response from people who have tried our mod and some even joined the tournament for our weekly 8 hr battles.
About us
Nations at War a Battlefield 2 tournament, although still in its infancy is being built upon the roots of a large group of friends, some of which have played together for over a year. A Military based gaming community it follows a rank and unit structure based off of real life armies and units.
We practice hard during the week developing teamwork and skills that translate into an excellent gaming experience on the long Saturday battles that occur every week on a pre-selected map.
This community which has a large amount of tournament experience, and expects and demands nothing but excellence on the battlefield and exceptional sportsmanship and comradely off of it. It is if nothing else a tournament built upon the ideals of fair play and friendship. Nations at War is at its heart a large community of friends who put a premium on teamwork, respect and fairness. This is after all a game and something meant to be enjoyed by all, where one comes to make friends and have fun.
Might be worth checking those out.

Maybe this might be a community to try and set up another scrim with. Souds like they might play by the same kind of standards as we do. I doudt it but might be worth a try

Re: Nations At War Mod Released
I was just interested in the maps. They redid Karkand, some others, in addition to a bunch of new ones.

Wouldn't those drop tanks be a little troublesome for the miniguns?

Re: Nations At War Mod Released
Well I'm not so sure about "redid" unless you mean reskinned. Those huge downloads are just modded versions of other people's maps. Not to say that they couldn't be fun, but this is not almost 2 Gigs worth of NEW material.

lol....what the hell are those tanks for anyway? The look like water pontoons but seems to be too high up to do any good. They should be good old fashioned dumb bombs (but you would have to drop both of them at the same time or the helo would flip due to the weight change....DOH!)

Maybe they block the minigun's fire so that the medical chopper can't be used like just another Blackhawk.
I like the Blackhawk with rocket pods hahaNever rub another man's rhubarb!
