New Models - Works in Progress
Emboldened by my earlier modelling efforts, I've made some more polished and useful models. Both are based on the army's Stryker family of vehicles (though my arty version is fictional) for simplicity, time-saving, and because I know more about them than the alternatives.
First up: the mobile artillery. I haven't decided yet if I want the driver to control the main gun like the standard tanks, or have the positions separate (like in PoE). Any input on that is welcome. There's also a mount for a 50 cal. I'll definitely give it smoke rounds, and possibly mine laying capabilities.

Next up: the engineer vehicle. Shown here with Bulldozer blade and remote 50 cal mount. Not pictured: kung-fu grip. I'd like to make the blade function like a super wrench, capable of repairing vehicles and picking up mines. With some tweaks in other areas, it might be possible to pick up C4 as well.

I've still got a looong ways to go, but the modelling is 99% done. I'm dreading the skinning though, as I suck at texturing and photoshop-type things. If everything turns out well, I hope to be able to do other versions (like an infantry carrier and TOW version) or completely different vehicles.

I'm using 3ds Max8. You can also use Maya or Gmax (which is a stripped down, free version of 3ds Max). I might have to switch to Gmax when my trial runs out, unless I can find a student version or something.

Great stuff!
Are the rear hatches open firing positions for infantry, like Joint Operations?

Might look better with some shark teeth

As of right now, the hatches are just for show. If these turn out okay, I may make an infantry version with hatches in the rear for guys to stand out of, much like the MTLB in PoE2. Passengers could easily be added to these models, but there wouldn't be a first-person view for them. For example, the BMP in Special Forces had the passengers in a compartment where they could see each other, while the Marder in PoE2 has no 1p view for the passengers (just a 3p chase cam of the vehicle).
The only programs with tools allowing you to export models in the proper format for BF2 are Maya, 3ds Max, and Gmax.

I have Maya, so if you want to use Blender or anything else, you can just email me the models (and point me to the exporter) and I'll export them for you.
