Re: Desert Conflict & Eve of Destruction

IF DC has Capture the Flag game mode, I'm down like a frown on a clown.

I would happily forego playing yet another mod if any of our others had CTF mode.

Did I mention I like CTF?

Actually almost anything other than conquest would be welcome, particularly in POE2.

Re: Desert Conflict & Eve of Destruction

Pirates was awesome on 1942. I loved that ankle bitting dragon! I loved the ship to ship combat! I started playing Pirates from their first release which was super small and buggy... but it was just so much fun. It was great to watch the mod progress and become the great and polished mod near the end of 1942. The small group of guys working on this version are awesome and I have total confidence that we will all be in for a treat.

Pirates is one of the hardest mods I think to make because they have to redo EVERYTHING and can't use anything from Bf2. About all they can use is trees and perhaps some boxes but that is it. Everything from the player models, animations, equipment, and so on have to be made from scratch. Some of those things are super hard and time consuming.

Anyway, I love Pirates! Yaaaarrrrr!

DCON has had a CTF mini mod out for over a year. I used to play it a lot on the Texas Combat Crew server. It runs great and was pretty popular for a while. When 1.3 came out lots of people stopped playing for some reason. I'd love to play on a full server again.

Re: Desert Conflict & Eve of Destruction

I hope that TG supports these two mods, if only for a week. It may pull in new users, rather than have an adverse effect. I don't play BF2, PR or PoE2 much, if at all, but I would be more than willing to play remakes of two classic BF1942 mods like DC and EoD. I'm sure that there's more like me out there.

Re: Desert Conflict & Eve of Destruction

BF2 featured modern desert warfare. PR has modern desert warfare. I think that's enough of that genre. I just don't see a need for Dcon.

EoD adds another theatre, which is a good thing. FH2 adds WW2, and very high quality at that.

Pirates would be fun on certain nights, but not as a continuous server imo.

PoE2 is a very nice mod, but it doesn't hold my interest.
