First of all, I do want to apologize to the Mullet King of Grease for my complaining the other night. The feel like I have played that map way too many times on the bad end of the arty and they helo and I had had enough. Anyway, I have an issue with the AA guns. It seems that I unload on the helos on some maps, like Crimea, and I cannot kill the helo, but other maps seem to kill the helo quickly...one of the snow maps, cannot remember which one.

Overall, POE does rock and in the future I will try and air my opinions here.

I never mind talking about any of our maps but in game I prefer to just play and try to enjoy (Other than the time waiting for the game to start).

The best way to get your opinion heard is to post it in the forums or catch me on IRC because I love to talk about maps. In game however, its hard to really discuss things or even remember half of it. On the forums I can read it and take the time to think about it... then come back and look it over again. I do that a lot with our testers suggestions when making new maps.

In the updated Crimea in our next release, I feel I had addressed these issues at least somewhat. I am sure not everyone will be happy but I feel it is a common ground solution to the issues at hand. Heck, I even optimized the map a little in the process.

I know my opinion isn't going to change anything, but I'm gonna say it anyway.

I think 2 Stingers is the best solution on Crimea. Yes, it means that a pair of coordinated players can make life difficult or even impossible for the Cobra, but that's how the game is supposed to work(*). The Cobra is then forced to either get someone to destroy those players, or to avoid them. I don't believe that those players could stop the Cobra from hitting the beach and yet remain untouchable themselves.

Besides, most of the time, I don't think you would get those coordinated players on the Stingers, at least not until AFTER the Cobra became a problem, and by then the beach is captured.

(*) Take asset destruction, for example. In vanilla BF2, a 2-man team can wipe out the CO assets of the other team and make the CO useless. The only counter is to send people after them.
    Peace through fear... since 1947!

That is one way to look at it. But I feel that I should stress the fact that when there is only one target to share between 2 SA-7 operators, "coordination" becomes a moot point. If there were two or more air targets; OK, now the SA-7 team needs to communicate and select their targets cooperatively to ensure they are both hitting the same thing. But that's not the case here.

And with the map being opened up for broader AAA coverage, forcing the Cobra to fly lower and increasing its vulnerability to everything from small arms to tank fire, adding a second SA-7 would only serve to force it out of contention completely and make assaulting the beach untenable. I foresee a USMC turkey-shoot as they try to cross the straight onto the mainland with a second SA-7 kit in play.

I'm not saying the Cobra's power on that map doesn't need some tuning. I just don't believe as some do that adding a second SA-7 is the way to do it.

IMO a second SA7 would ruin the balance... the current one, used properly, should work fine to keep the cobra in check 'enough'.
