    Regularize 'em!

So I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that there's been a bit of a resurgence lately on the server. It's hitting 50-60 players most nights of the week! There are a lot of new faces every night, and a lot of the 'guests' are sticking around and becoming regulars. I just wanted to suggest that over the next week or two we all make a conscious effort to be friendly and welcoming to these guys, and get them plugged into the community here. Here's how:

    1) When you see someone you recognize join your, say hello by name. "Hey <name> how's it goin?"

    2) Refer people to the forums. It may feel awkward or 'forward', but people like to be invited in. "Hey <name>, Have I seen you on the forums?" or "good game guys - you guys should stop by and checkout the forums" or whatever...

    3) Lead squads! You don't have to be an uberl337 SL to SL... just giving orders and requesting kits is a good enough start. Remember why you stuck around TG and give that gift to someone else!

Sorry that I've lost my... er.... uh... regularity. Have been busy with several projects recently, plus a girlfriend. I showed her BF2 the other day, but she wasn't too impressed with how I spawned in and ran directly into a claymore and died, so I had to turn it off.

Gotta agree with bloodline, the main reason i like playing with the TG squads or those in general of people who play on the server often like Ikonic just make the games fun, and the freindly chatter is always great and def makes me want to come back.

I even try to play on TG servers in TF2

I always have fun. A game is only as good as the people you play with.

Camaraderie just enriches the enjoyability that much further as opposed to playing on a mindless server.

    Re: Regularize 'em!

AS an Irregular, I feel it is my prerogative, nay, my duty to strongly object to the sentiments expressed in the title of this post, to which I object, strongly.

Furthermore, having been taken aback by said offensive and strongly objectionable titular target shooting, I was not in any way persuaded to peruse the comments within.

The dismay, shock, incredulity and constipation I felt upon seeing that the author of this pugnacious post was none other than a former comrade was matched only by my outrage, self righteousness and a sudden desire to eat pork rinds--the pico de gallo ones with lime: to die for--and I knew what I had to do. I had a stiff swig of tangerine blast metamucil, and ripped open the bag.

Now fortified, and having taken stock of the situation, I am going to risk taking some heat. I need to take the bull by the horns, and take a stand on this taking the law into one's own hands. I don't take pleasure in taking a former mentor down a notch, but someone has to take the wind out of his sails before things take a bad turn--I hope he doesn't take my taking him to task the wrong way, but we all have moments where taking the appropriate steps means to take the offensive and stop taking it lying down.

I encourage you all to take those new members under your wing and take an interest in their take on things! Tell them we take a dim view of taking a powder when the squad needs help; and that to take offense at some other player's taking charge can lead to morale and squad cohesion taking a nose dive. Take comfort in knowing that there are many of us who simply take a new visitor's foibles in stride, never taking for granted their efforts to take a stab at the TG Way, ever taking the moral high ground and taking things as they come by taking it one day at a time. Therefore, I say to you, good readers, take a page from our book before you take the bait offered in the title and do what we do:

    Irregularize 'Em!

And as for those formerly upstanding members of our illustrious number, who encourage you to, and I quote:"

    um...ok, I didn't read that part, now I...

    gee, I guess...*cough*

Well that... that was, um ...yeah.

    NM! What he said!

(sorry W6! still buds, right? )
    *gulp*
