Re: what is wrong with my voip
What is wrong with your voip? Does it not work? Does it work sometimes? Is it scratchy?
What have you done to troubleshoot it? Make sure your microphone is plugged in? Does your mic work for other games/teamspeak? Does it work in BF2 but not in POE?
Tell us what it's doing exactly and what you have tried so that we may be able to help you. Also try doing a search on VOIP through our forums as it will turn up a number of other threads. Perhaps someone has solved your problem previously.

Re: what is wrong with my voip
Have you tried testing it in the settings (audio) before joining a game? You should be able to perform same basic tests (voice/reception meter), and it should tell you whether your voice is "received" or not. Please elaborate and we might be able to help you out.
Psst. you did try pressing "B" before speaking right?

Re: what is wrong with my voip
For some reason I have had problems in the past with VOIP if I was using a USB based headset for XP. My mic would work on all other computer functions but not in-game. I messed around with the drivers so long I got frustrated and went back to an old-style 2-jack headset. Don't know if you are USB based for your mic...if so you may want to reinstall or update the drivers. As LuckyShot said, if you had more symptoms to share it would help.

Re: what is wrong with my voip
Are you trying to use the in-game squad VOIP or teamspeak?
It is one or the other. If it is teamspeak then you should look through the
troubleshooting FAQ's. Did you check your firewall settings for POE to make sure
it was allowed program access? You said it works fine on vista...does it work on other
BF2 games? Sorry, I don's know much about vista.

If you do a Google search for "teamspeak and vista" you will find plenty of hits from
people that are having similar problems. The link below is a post from a guy that claims
it is a Windows security issue and you may want to try his fix.

Re: what is wrong with my voip
I've never been able to get in-game voip to work since BF2 came out. I have an Audigy Platinum card and I know there were issues with them from the very beginning. I tried to get it to work again a couple weeks ago with no luck. BF2 disables the microphone and even if you alt-tab out and enable it, it still doesn't work. TS and vent work fine but I notice additional latency when using them, I guess I notice it with voip enabled in game too but hearing the "fortunate ones" that can use their mics is worth the trade off. If anyone has seen a fix for the Audigy I would be grateful.

Re: what is wrong with my voip
Judge_Leo: The easiest solution to your problem is to get a USB headset. It effectively functions as a separate sound device from your sound card, which should neatly sidestep any Audigy issues you may have. This also allows you to do cool things like put TS/Vent sound through the headset, and game sounds through the speakers.
