Re: Somebody please tell me...
This, along with everything else suggested is nothing new to me. If it was blind luck then it would even out with everyone. I'm not trying to make a big statement that everyone who consistently beats the crud out of me is cheating - that's quite conceited. But, like I said: I've been around enough to know all the ins/outs of on-line fps games and usually play near the top but this one has me on the suck. Always.
It must be said... I play, ummm... inebriated a lot and I know that has a big effect when playing against other highly-skilled players. Even so, in other games I can still do extremely well in that condition. And with POE2 when I play completely sober I don't really do a whole lot better.
I know all the things to do & look for but I can't ever seem to see the nme first. Do all you heavy-hitters play with your vid settings low to minimize distractions? Also, I get fairly crappy fps and that can make a difference in cases where a lot of things are going on.
Is it possible to use a dual-screen setup and have the map expanded on one screen & the fppov on the other?

Re: Somebody please tell me...
I can tell you from experience Undead that after switching from high settings to low setting/with high geometry I saw a drastic increase in my effectivness in both spotting the nme and in killing opfor. So there you go, on another note I too would like to know if there is a dual monitor setup possibility with POE/BF2. That would be soo cool. And some people have other advantages, one player I know of sees nme's at least 2 seconds before I do all the time. How he does it I do not know. But I don't think its cheating possibly just a big monitor or tweaked brightness/gamma.

Not that I am one of the better players but I play with everything maxed. From watching our better players the absolute in making other players think you are a hacker is have situational awareness. Know when you are not going to win a fight and back off. Make sure you know how many enemies are around before you start blasting away. Use terrain and structures to your advantage.

Re: Somebody please tell me...
I had a lot of FPS experience when I started POE as well, but I got owned so many times that I too tried to blame it on the computer or vid settings. So I tried everything. Brightness, gamma, detail settings, the works. Guess what... I still got owned!
I took time to read and really listen to what these guys were saying. It really works. I still can't kill Mantis or Lucky unless their backs are to me, but I've improved a ton.

Re: Somebody please tell me...
Alright for UndeadSoldier or anyone else in his camp...perhaps this will help some. The request came internally to declassify some more 12th topsecret documents. So the following will be two full rounds as seen via fraps from my perspective. These were made back in april and outside music to fill in for lack of in game sounds they were not edited up much to be fancy(I suck at making videos)...this is just pure gameplay from my perspective created for the purpose of showing my fellow 12th how I move and think while playing. These were late a night with a heavy Euro playerbase so the competition and teamwork are not really there...still the slower gameplay does show how guys like me play. Take notice of the following: Smart decisions(not rushing in), minimap usage, terrain usage, blind spotting, retreating, heavy flanking, avoiding high traffic lanes, engaging only when you have a solid shot, rarely standing still, heavy scanning for targets 'bird watching'. I play at 1680x1050...mostly medium settings. BF2 isn't like Quake 3 where lowering the graphics signficantly will improve your game a lot. What separates the men from the boys in this game is really along the following lines:
- Smart tactics
- Situational Awareness
- Weapon, vehicle and map familiarity
- Teamwork
- Headphones or any setup where you can pinpoint enemy gunfire and movement
- Learn from your mistakes
- Practice makes perfect
With that said...enjoy. I've been meaning to make a few more for a while now...perhaps I'll make one of me sniping ikonic over and over on Spies.

That's easy - mantis plays a lot. Of all the tips up there, the most important one is "practice makes perfect".

Re: Somebody please tell me...
True, true, of all the people I used to lose to in one on ones its the guys I usually come on the server and see that usually give me problems.
Unless I am in the Hind/Sokol then only Braidedheadman gives me a constant cause for worry. If he has an air asset that is.
But practice makes perfect sounds about right.
Sorry for this 100th post finally reached. 900 more til 1000. Yay
