couldn't load POE2

I tried to load POE2 for the first time from the GamersHell website but when it was finished it asked what program I wanted to open it with. How do I do this? Refer me to a thread that explains it if there is one.

Re: couldn't load POE2

Ikonic: that's the thread I went through to load it. I went through the process of loading it and something came up about a .zip file. Then when I clicked the icon (the generic one which indicates I don't have the proper file) that window comes up asking what program I want to open it with. Confirming I don't have the proper program.

Do I need to load all versions first? I started by loading the v1.8. What should I start with?

Re: couldn't load POE2

So basically you don't have any software on your pc to unzip the zip file you downloaded. Well for free software to do that you can grab 7-Zip. Then just have that program extract the contents of the zip file to a folder. I'm sure it will be an exe inside so after extracted just run the exe which will install poe2.

Re: couldn't load POE2

When the gamershell.com website tells me my download is ready "click here", this is the message they give me: The authentication key you used was out of date, please follow the link below and try again.

Then it just starts over...never get anywhere. There is an icon on my desktop, however, but its the same thing....don't have the program to recognize it. And I downloaded the file Mantis told me to: 7-zip.

Re: couldn't load POE2

I thought Windows XP and later came with a native zip/unzip feature? What OS are you running, just out of curiosity?

So do you have something downloaded(a large file over 1gb) or have you not even got that far? If your stuck just trying to download something then try a different website. Lots of options here:

Honestly...population is pretty depressing right now. A nice mod update is coming quite soon though so give it a try now but if the player count isn't too your liking then give it another shot when the update comes out. Should see a nice player spike around that time...bunch of solid new maps coming.

PR?...its free...give it a shot. The gameplay is vastly different and that could be a good or bad thing depending on what you think after playing. You will find a full server with PR right now.

Re: couldn't load POE2

Would you mind describing POE2 vs. PR in terms of gameplay, pros and cons of each, and how are they each different from vanilla bf2?

Or should I start another thread?

Re: couldn't load POE2

In a short and sweet summary of PR v. POE2; PR emphasizes real-life combat situations and an in-depth tactical/teamwork environment. Think of POE2 like Desert Combat for BF1942.

The best way of comparing them is to check both of their websites.

Re: couldn't load POE2

ramma,

as a noob I'll give you my quick POE vs PR thoughts...
POE is still very run and gun, and I find it harder to find a SL ready and willing to take charge, let alone a CO. Recently When playing POE has been these 7 on 7 rotate the flags sort of games. pluses (a cheap plus, but...) the enemy names turn red when cross-hairs are on them, SPOT'EM Shot em!

PR is the ultimate... I'm still intimidated. but I love it! harder for me to get on, I'm not in a $ position right now to be a $ supporting member of TG (but I'm kicking the knowledge to everyone I know, and trying to add a banner to myspace and facebook pages of mine.) so.. space is always limited.

I think when I feel I'm better, and a more valuable squad member, and I have the $, I'll play PR exclusively.

but kick the tires on both man!

and if you get a chance, try Pirates as well, that is just a good time period
