Wearing the |TG| tag
I think this post in the Official Announcements forum deserves a plug:
"You may see players on the servers using the "TG" tag in their name when they play on the server. Players who become regulars quickly ask: may I use the TG tag in my name?
Anyone who endorses and practices our playstyle and rulesets may wear the TG tag when playing on our or other servers. Bottom line: if you support TG for what it is and want to show that support, the TG tag is a good way to do it. Many players who love it here choose not to sport the tag in their playername, and that's fine, too, if that's what you prefer. The option is there for you to take or leave.
We love it when people support this community with Supporting Memberships, but it's not required to wear the TG tag.
I just want to re-iterate that by wearing the TG tag you are representing TG and our style of play. Wearing the TG tag means you have read and understand our rules, SOPs & announcements."
How to add the tag:
1) Open this file (in notepad, e.g.):
C:\Documents and Settings\*you*\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Global.con
2) Edit the second line to look like this:
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "|TG|"
note: it's the pipe symbol, not the square brackets: | TG| ... [ TG]

What's not working?
Your global.con file should look like this:
Code:
GlobalSettings.setDefaultUser "0002"
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "|TG|"
(note, you might have a different default user number)

Re: Wearing the |TG| tag
I got it, for some reason the settings were in a read only, hidden or some crazy folder. Thanks for putting up with my retardedness. My Dad use to tell me that myself and my sister were only partially retarded.

Due to the influx of fresh bait...i mean new blood to TG, please keep in mind when you throw those nifty TG tags on that you are representing and adhering yourself to THESE. The tag shows other non- TG people what we are about, and I have personally noticed that there are a few non-IHS TGs that are mis-representing of how TG plays and operates. Ultimately, it is up to the veteran crowd to make sure that the newbies are aware and advised of our SOPs in a polite and informative manner and to take appropriate action against rulebreakers by reporting them to an available server admin.
I would like to add that wearing the TG tag isn't a free "clan" tag, but a representation that should be taken seriously and not as a form of bragging rights or e-superiority.
/end late-night rant

Re: Wearing the |TG| tag
As an admin in 2142, I hold | TG| tagged people to a stricter standard. There are responsibilities associated with proclaiming yourself part of TG, and those that break the rules while wearing the tags are kicked or banned quicker, with less warning.

I've done a placard - for you TG's!
Image removed: Khaerus
I was playing Berezan Island this evening, and I was in a squad together with this dude.
He shot me half dead at the carrier, and when I asked him why (and certainly since he was carrying the TG prefix) he did it, he answered as above written!
Tactical Gamers' might be an awesome place to play at - but for crying out loud; don't let the TG prefix be an immunity to good behaviour!
Honestly, I couldn't care less if this is a post will get me banned from the forum and the PoE-server. Nevertheless WhiskeySix, if you are telling everyone how great it is to play at your server, make it happen! And that goes for all of you carrying the TG prefix.
Comment? Bring them on.

Re: Wearing the |TG| tag
Magrioteli
The TG tag doesn't offer immunity to anything. As a matter of fact, wearing the tags exposes you to swifter and harsher punishment for violating our rules, sop's, or even the spirit of the TG way.
I'm not sure why you felt that you had to go to all the trouble to make this and post it. Have you tried to talk to an admin about what happened? I apologize if a tag wearing member mistreated you, but you have to admit your response here is isn't very respectful. Why don't you take your grievance to the proper Contact an Admin forum and let us deal with this the correct way. Thank you.
