Re: Dropping Like Flies
See, I think if there are changes need to be made to a map fine, that is not my issue here my issue is people dropping out when these maps come around, TGers and Pubs alike. til they are fixed they can be dropped to maintain a healthy population. That is all, I just wish the people I have talked to that don't like these maps would at least come here and say someting, alot say they don't even like the new maps, but I beg to differ. One thing I must say is I do think that alot of balance issues are being brushed aside based on catering to TG specifically and not to pubs. Those were not my words just from the grapevine. If this was inappropriate please tell me and I will edit this post haste.
I just don't like to see a healthy round going only to have seeders consistently file out when certain maps come by. Tweaks were made for Sambir and for a while some maps were dropped from the rotation while being tweaked, am I incorrect in this? If I am not I see no difference then in dropping these maps til the said tweaks are delivered.
Also suggesting ways to balance these maps are all well and good and add to their workability but when all is said and done, If they need so many tweak then obviously something is off, don't you think?

Re: Dropping Like Flies
Oh yes. I was victim of this a few nights ago. I don't remember who all I was squadded with, I think Braided was the SL. At one point we couldn't even get very far out of Camp without being mowed down. I believe this was on the 32p version. Our squad would run, grab a flag then leave the rest of the whole team there to defend only to lose that flag as we worked on another. It was a very frustrating evening.

Nay.
Kil, get yourself to class, post haste!
Grammar and Usage Unit 3, Lesson 28b
Yea is the affirmative statement (Nay the negative), which is pronounced "yay" but not spelled that way. Yay is an exclamatory statement whose spelling is phonetic.
Snake Eyes means plural, as in "Dang! I rolled a snake eyes."
Snake Eye's could mean personal possesive. e.g. and "I reckon there's a feud a-brewin' on account of ol' Chief Snake Eye's daughter runnin' off with th' Sheriff's boy."
Or it could be a contraction of 'is': "This pickled snake eye's delicious!"
Let's watch those apostrophes, people. It's all fun and games until someone's eye's put out.
Back to topic: I don't see anything too wrong with Pripyat, I simply don't understand what's bad about it. It's challenging and fun every time I play. As for Snake Eyes, the issues have been gone over in more detail than I can remember any other map being given, and anyone who's read the posts describing effective tactics will know what to do.
Those who have read the tactics should feel a responsibility to get squads together at the start and lead accordingly. If the commander is clueless, hit the V key and let them know the effective tactics to be used or ask them if they'll sit this one out. If the rest of the team is clueless, TG guys, split up, get in there and learn 'em! Dagnabbit, if you all drop out, the people who don't read the forums will never learn.
Unless you're really about to blow your head gasket, stand by your server, do your job soldier, and take one for the team by doing everything you can to help people understand what needs to be done. Get in the CO seat, order the arty, command the squads, and start reporting noncompliance.
If we can bear a day or two of teaching, explaining and kicking, I think we'll see a difference. Perhaps I don't understand why it's so important to have the most full server possible at all times. Dropping maps from rotation or giving up and leaving your own server because there's too many pub nubs leaving/playing just doesn't make sense to me. Stand by your server.
I really like these two ideas. Together, it would be too much, but particularly the second suggestion could really introduce a fun dynamic.
A huge catapult on the deck of the carrier that could launch three guys at a time would be good too.
It might have been us, that was happening when I was with you on that map.

Re: Dropping Like Flies
Oh brother
it's almost as if no one is hearing me, so I give up on this, lock this thread and throw away the key. I am all for using proper tactics and whatnot to effectively win a map but when your squad disconnects on you well that doesn't remain an option. Bye bye thread.
People are being frustrated on these two maps and thats just that. Accept the reality of it or not.
Final Post on this topic!

Re: Dropping Like Flies
i hear you. my post was just a caffiene-induced manic episode. im better now.
i havent witnessed the exodus you are describing, but i havent been on for a long stretch of time either. From what I've seen, frustrated players either drop from the server or spawn with the sniper kit. I'm not sure which one I'd rather see.
There is no easy answer. If there was it would be done already.
