I tried to lower settings tonight...still no luck. This is so dang frustrating...emptying a clip into someone seeing the red x...then one shot and dead. Thanks for the tips though.

I understand your frustration when your game does not seem to play the way you would like. When the last POE2 update came out it finally became to much for my CPU to perform at a reasonable level. It was time anyway, but I updated my system and it was a dramatic improvement. So I will make an assumption that you have considered that and you feel confident that your current system specs should handle the game. If that is the case, you should look at a few other things to try:

--Clearing the cache folder for all of your BF2 rounds
--Make sure your anti-virus software is not interfering
--Fast internet connection? Did you test the bandwidth?

May seem drastic...but...
--Complete reinstall of the game, patches, mod, etc. **Make sure to save your player profiles and settings to paste over your new installation

For me, I did not have enough processing and RAM to handle the game anymore. I went from ~30 fps to 100. At least now, I can see Mantis for a solid 10 seconds before he kills me.

OMFG! You soo deserve a +6 rep for this one, well I just got a 8600 GT so when I drop into POE next time I should be moving rather smoothly that plus the tweaks I implemented should have me running smooth without lag issues and connection errors.

I never see Mantis first! Usually just hear the faint whisper of a spec-ops rifle in my ear as I fall to the ground, then lay there and stare up at the sky... I hear if you scatter random claymores around you will eventually kill him though, any truth to that?
