Need help...are there special settings I am missing?

I am constantly frustrated because I am aiming at people who are sitting still and I am putting a few bullets in them before they move, I see the hit "x" marks the spot, but people are not dying. I know many moons ago when I played bf1942 that settings made all the difference in seeing what you are aiming at and what you are hitting.

My question is...are there any such recommended settings in bf2/poe2?
Thanks.

I turn all settings to high and then aim my shockpaddles at peoples crotches, seems to work well.

I use the pray and spray method as my aim is horrible.

I just follow Mantis or Troublesome. Hopefully they can diminish the OpFors health before they reload and you can get a easy kill.

This is mostly dependent on your hardware and somewhat on your software settings and connection speed. I would say that the "recommended" settings are those that maximize play based on what you have in your box. You should start on LOW everything, see how that plays as a baseline and then ramp it up from there. Take notes of your fps at each increment to see when you go over the edge of what is acceptable to you.

I have messed around with the GSInterpolationTime and GSDefaultLatencyCompensation settings, and never got any noticeable improvement.
My theory is that these settings are just the starting values and they are dynamically updated during the round.

Lucky told me to go to Low settings during the last scrim vs. Global Conflict and since then plus changing my mouse speed to 0.70 I have reaped the benefits of corpses at my feet, or below my bird.

I refuse to run low settings. I want to have fun. Part of my fun is the visual aspects of the game. I want the best experience the game has to offer. If that makes me mediocre in spotting the enemy, so be it. I make do, and I have been having a great time.

I have a 7800.. here's what I run to average around 60fps:

- "Terrain" = low. This reduces how far out grass renders. (slightly less pretty, but helpful for not dying as much).
- "Effects" = high. Doesn't seem to effect frame rates all that much.
- "Geometry" = high. Doesn't affect framerates that much, but it DOES change when vehicles 'appear' on the horizon. If you have this on low or medium, there's a good chance you're being seen by that distant tank/helo/whatever before you see them.
- "Texture" = Medium. I have a 256MB card, and this is ok.. with high, i get stuttering on some maps when I turn 180 quickly.
- "Lighting" = Low. Decent boost to FPS. Also makes it less difficult to see people indoors.
- "Shadows" = off. BIG boost to FPS. Doesn't make it less nice looking - half the maps are overcast and you wouldn't have a shadow IRL anyway.
- "Dynamic Light" = Medium. No real constant dynamic light sources, so doesn't affect FPS much - what it does show is muzzleflash of OpFor at distance.
- "Antialiasing" = 4x. The part of your card that does AA doesn't do anything else... so turn this up until it starts being the bottleneck. I added 2x and FPS didn't change. I then went with 4x and it didn't change - so I left it there.

View distance scale - CRANK IT UP TO 100%... no wonder you're getting killed a lot! People see you WAY before you see them

Lol, Rick. Quit playing on your iPod... Ditch those dang white 'earbuds' and you'll be able to scale down your "vis to other players," at the least.
