In game complaining out of control
For the most part, we play this game for fun and friends. What drives me nutz is all the in game complaining. I know we all talk smack to our own squads as to how so and so cant miss or so and so cant die. It's all done within the squad and nobody else sees it. When you type it, the others seeing the message in game don't know your tone of voice.
Another pet peeve is the drive-by complainer and instant log-out'r. Usually not just a complaint, but a small use of profanity and log out. Thats not necessary. Everybody has their bad night. I got smoked like I was sitt'n in the corner drinking Dr.Pepper and watching a movie tonight. Did I complain,,,yes,,,but only to my squad and I laughed about it.
I'm not chastising anyone nor am I giving out names. The screen is busy enough without those annoying messages.
One last item....Now to the others that reply to those that message that stuff,,,,please stop. It's almost just as bad as the original message.

Re: In game complaining out of control
usually those who are "drive-by complainers" are not guys who come back to the server. Nothing you can really do about those guys. Unfortunately they seem to affect every mp game title.

Re: In game complaining out of control
It's a lack of understanding of how a MP game works that creates many of the situations for complaints. What you see on screen in BF2, really has nothing to do with what is going on at the server. There are many animations(like the drop and roll) that are only seen client side by those not doing the drop and roll. Things like lag or just ping can greatly effect when the server is notified of you shooting despite what you see on screen. The opposite is often true. You get one shot, but the other person actually emptied half a magazine and thinks nothing grand about their victory.
People should just step back, look at the scoreboard and then go to BattleRecorder. The guys consistently at the top in points are rarely if ever any one that got accused of doing something odd. So if someone is cheating they're doing a poor job of it other than annoying you. I'm not saying cheating never happens, but in my own personal experience cheaters are very obvious. The ones that aren't, are smart and you'll never notice without viewing the BattleRecorder. I take someone killing me with ease as a challenge to step up my game.|TG-12th| tHa_KhAn

I understand that. It's just annoying that the people that play the game for fun have to watch all this. Those of you that know or played along side me know that I play for fun and will do anything for my squad to succeed. I'm not the best player out there and probably will never be, but it's the love of the game that keeps me coming back!

Re: In game complaining out of control
Extended complaint sessions have no place on the server. Concerns should be voiced, yes, but the 'everyone who's killed me all night long is suspicious' rants should NOT be happening on the in-game chat. These things are detrimental to everyone's enjoyment of the game, and most often, these suspicions of other players are completely unfounded. There are plenty of ways to voice concerns about game-play rather than using the in-game chat. Read: PMs/TeamSpeak/Contact-an-Admin forum.
As admins, we have plenty of tools to review suspicious game-play, and we use them. Player concerns are often instrumental in pointing us in a certain direction, as well. We wouldn't be able to do what we do here at TG without the dedicated, involved players that we attract to our servers. We do need to properly use our resources, though. If I investigated everyone who killed me in the course of an evening's matches, I'd be out of action for the next week. If I had to investigate myself every time I shot someone through a corrugated fence or a clump of grass, well, you get the idea.OPS, the bacon is on you.

Re: In game complaining out of control
You know what I mean. LOL! I'm not complaining, just stating that these people are annoying at best. I swear that some of these guys/gals lag out and when they come out of it they're dead and freak'n out because they were shot. I probably say 1000 times a night,"There's no way he shot me through 2 buildings and a fence." Another one of my favorites is, "Darn that guy standing over me and not picking up my med kit and reviving me! How rude!" I've got an arsenal of jokes and sayings that I spit out while playing, but they are never posted in in-game chat if they are slightly rude in nature or could be taken that way out of context. I reserve those for my squad so they can hear my tone and giggle.
I AM COUNTER=OPS AND I APPROVED THIS MESSAGE.

Re: In game complaining out of control
I must say, I apologize, as I'm guilty of this as well. I think I need to step back and try to be less negative.
Thanks for posting this thread, and to greasy for pointing it out in game, but doing so in a good way.

Hey Rich73,
I enjoy playing along side you. You and I and a few other regulars always talk some sort of smack over our squad voip. Thats no biggie. I'm just talking about the posters. I don't see you doing that.
