Re: Modding the Mod - A Wednesday March 19th Special Event Night
It was fun, and I was more useless than usual. \
Odessa... I can't fly, and I'm not a huge AA guy either. I did try going head to head with Saitcho. He had mobile AA and I had, well, a pistol left with ammo. At first I was like a gnat, just adding a little "pahtink" to his armor... I chased him across a bridge, then... he got tired, and whipped out the fly swatter and splattered the heck outta me.
Spies - Nuke Launchers in the air was a bit too Supermarket battles for me.
Fallen - was pretty fun, and it came on my 'turn' to SL. I'm very thankful for the TGrs hopping into my squad and just going with the flow... it wasn't pretty.
Dnister - I got a dingo to pad my kills, and limit my deaths. I was too slow with my screenshot to show Uncle Khaerus my mad skillz.
UFO map... uhm could've done without, I should've just called it a night as that one was loading.
It was fun, and it was good to be back with all of you. maybe I'll see you again soon.

Spies was a blast, and the Green Army was mighty indeed. Man, the stories flying around- I now speak German, Gahlas can summon waterspouts and is a good pistol shot, Emdek can't beat himself at chess, Eflight (who could not speak because his wife said so!) kept asking me for a pony, and Svid needs new tires for his Ford and kept trying to jimmy some from the Nuke launchers. A new guy (forgive me, but I can't remember the name- "lawndart" maybe?) walked in on it all, and fit right in. I'm pretty sure Cyco ran with us for a while too...
"Fallen" was interesting with the new flag layout- it kept the zerging down a bit, and changed up the traditional strategies a little.
Odessa was fun, though I'm not sure I'd want to play it that way too often- but man, trying to protect your wingman/squadmates in the midst of all that was intense...
Thanks to Mantis for the work on that stuff.

Even during the mod madness last night we had new faces commenting on our teamwork and high level of mature play. Just goes to show that the TG mindset has a positive impact even amid chaos.

I am glad this was popular, because I missed it. Hopefully we can have a rerun in the not to distant future, since everyone seems to have liked it.

Re: Modding the Mod - A Wednesday March 19th Special Event Night
I had fun.
Fallen - The new layout was interesting, if the lag can be worked out I'd like to try it again.
Odessa - The littlebird battles were insane, hard to tell who was who but very fun.
Highway - I didn't enjoy this too much, it was all arty snipers and jets.
Spies - It was crazy, we had a lot of fun running around from flag to flag beating on the enemy with our pistols.
Dnipro - The UFOs were funny but there were way too many tickets.
Berezan Island - I liked the beach flag location, easy access to the katana
Dropped out after that so I didn't get to see anymore. Fun stuff.

I wish I could of played last night. My internet is down and I have no idea when it will be back up. It sounds like everyone had a blast so I hope we do this again soon so I can play.

Re: Modding the Mod - A Wednesday March 19th Special Event Night
I have to say that was probably one of the more interesting nights of this game I've ever experienced. UFO's were hysterical if not easy targets to take out, I actually shot one down with and AT kit. Sorry I missed the Fallen Mod hopefully I'll catch it again.

Ya Draeh,,,That was fun! Thanks Mantis! That was the most I ever killed you in a game! LOL! Don't punish me for that please!!! *hiding*
As far as the out of bounds Watermill,,,we were talking about how to get there without dieing. As we approached,,,we contemplated getting a fast mover to zip in there and take the flag a little at a time until I just went for it and started yelling,"I'm not dieing! Lets move!" I loved that flag. I even enjoyed the barren land behind that flag!
Again,,,,Thanks!

Regarding that: Man, that was a piece of silver in a black cloud- Emdek successfully nailing that sniper made up (briefly) for all the Death-by-Sniper/Heap Shell/EuroTiger Nonsense/Arty Rounds our squad took on the chin on that H2H map.
For some reason, I felt that our squad holding that most-forward flag would give the rest of our team the squirm-room to take some other flags, and yeah, we paid for it. We never lost that flag once we took it, but I think we were the targets of every piece of heavy weaponry the Germans had that whole round. Gahlas summed it up best: "I hate dying when there's nothing I can do about it." We could have left that flag, I suppose, but I don't think it would have helped much. They would have found us wherever we went to defend, seeing as how our team held only one flag for most of that round.
