I hate to rehash an old issue, but the MAP ROTATION..
IMO maps such as Fallen, Spies, and Orel could be doubled up on in the rotation.
I know, "What about vehicles, thats what is soo cool about BF2?". I just think the rotation could improve, and with it the server traffic.

I like a mix where you get 1 then the other. So like a Fallen then a H2H then some Orel.

Balance is key so that the server appeals to players of all types.
I like the idea of infmap>vehiclemap>infmap and so on though.

Carpathian is probably my favorite map.
My only request would be to shuffle the order once and a while. I usually play at the same time of the day (9-11 pm est) and it seems like I have been seeing the same maps. I like all of the maps in the rotation, it just seems that there are a few that i havent played for a long while.

I think the shuffling/staggering maps is a long-overdue idea. We all probably each get on at the same time of day, so we all end up playing the same couple of maps each time.

Re: I hate to rehash an old issue, but the MAP ROTATION..
I recently shuffled it a bit while you were gone project. I tend to shuffle it around every now and then. But I will go give it another shuffle now...edit...make that overnight thurs...
Anyone can see the maplist...just type maplist.list in your console. We pretty much run every map outside 3-4 I think and even those occasionaly get run for variety. POE2 seems to be about 1/3rd straight infantry, 1/3rd light combined arms and 1/3rd heavy combined arms and so that is what you see. Cater to only the infantry crowd or only the vehicle crowd and you'll lose the interest of the other half. So while Caged obviously wants a lot more infantry maps I'm sure our chopper nut AirVark would be happy to request more air maps. The larger the sample the more you realize that its that mix that will keep everyone happy.
While ideally we let the rotation just run through the list I find your asking for trouble doing that....especially when you take into consideration our map auto sizer. If Port Yalta was up next but there is 45 players and climbing at the end of the previous map...no sir I'm not letting the 32 version load of that map with that many. I'll try to force the 64 version or set the nextmap to something that will yield a large 32 map. Then there are balance concerns...if a UKR team just won big do I then let Spies Like Us load next where they now have the built in GER weapon advantage. Do I let a team that just lost big now have to assault on Snake Eyes? 'No Sir' There are countless examples I could give along similar lines.
You'll see some maps more often than others. Someone could try to convince me that First Snow is more popular than Highway to Hell/Berezan Island or Olesko is more popular than Fallen/Raid on Kerch but I won't believe you for a second. Nightly we see what each map load does to the population....there are trends and it is obvious which maps tend to be less favored. The in game comments also show this. Whether anyone believes me or not from what I've seen vehicle maps are better at bringing in a population although there are lots of times where infantry maps need to be prioritized because it will keep people hanging around instead of logging off.
Bernout: Rolling Thunder is an armor map...put a heavy focus utilizing armor in your tactics and you'l have more fun.
Learning how to leverage them effectively in your squad also teaches you the arts of countering them. Saitcho for example won't seem so scary when you bring a tank with a wrench or two tanks to greet his one. heh Get your practice in now cause the upcoming map Matador will have 20 tanks per side!
