Don't run me down!

Is it against the TG rules to run people over with a vehicle? If so where does it say so on the TG website? Is it one of the unspoken rules? Maybe someone can share them with the rest of the regular players on the server so we don't get threatened with a kick.

Re: Don't run me down!

It's very discouraging and rude to do these kind of things during seeding times.

Generally, unless you have a gunner you shouldn't be using the vehicle like a toy. It's kinda a team asset. On a map where there are only jeeps on each side they do count.

Re: Don't run me down!

My understanding was..

'Nascaring,' or driving around very fast all by your lonesome just running over anyone you happen upon was against the TG code.

I think when I've been in a jeep (the wrangler type) and orders are to get on a flag, if an enemy pops out and starts shooting at me. I will run them over. (within reason) I won't spin that thing around and go trying to run them over, but if they pop out from behind a bus stop or a wall, and I'm gunning down the road to get on a flag.

In a Dingo / Dozer / Hummer. I'll stop and switch to the gunner seat.

In a tank or APC, those things are slow enough, if I run you over... you were napping.

I think its another PR vs POE thing. If I remember right in PR its kickable, in POE is frowned upon, but... stick to the code... the code are more like guidelines. : )

Re: Don't run me down!

I only have a problem with it if it is on an infantry map where it could be put to better use. On a map where there are a fair amount of AT/ Engineers I don't think it is a problem. It isn't terribly hard to hit a car coming at you or to get out of the way. It is pretty funny to watch people fly when they get smacked by a vehicle zooming around.

There is nothing wrong with having some fun. I think people (me included) get a little too uptight in this game sometimes. If anyone mentioned kicking someone for hitting people with cars in Vanilla everyone would have laughed, TG included. It isn't like life is valued or realistic in this mod to where you can't just drive around and go a little crazy once and a while.

Re: Don't run me down!

The key is to strive for a realistic experience within the world portrayed by the game. We don't allow jihad jeeps and suicide tactics because it's not something you'd experience in the war between organized armies of UKR/GER/USA. Same thing goes with vehicle usage - we don't allow ramming cause you'd never see that.

Apply that to jeeps and you get your answer. Would a soldier run-over an enemy soldier while trying to get away from a hot area? yeah sure. Would they go driving around looking for road-kill targets? No.. that's what guns are for.

Haha... nice try with your attempt to fool us into believing you would be anywhere else other than atop a hill with the anti-material rifle.

Re: Don't run me down!

huh, I'm sorry I missed that too.

I think it is well within the guidelines to run over snipers. :P Sorry to have mis-spoken before.
