Server squads
I was thinking it would improve gameplay to have a "regular" squad for the nightly rounds.
If the Gentlemen here that have Rank dont want to organize something like this server wide, I hope to recruit 5 players for nightly action.

Re: Server squads
Hey Real - can you elaborate a little on what you mean?
There are some that use the same squad names each night. There are others like Rockford/York/etc. that switch out between rounds but squad up together. Then there are the "Learn TG" squads that some of the regulars create to help new people with our style of play and rules.
Then there is the large group of people that wait til the very very last second each round hoping someone else will start a squad : )

Organized squads would improve game play in many ways.
1)The commander role would become relevant again.
2)A visitor to the server would quickly learn to appreciate this dedicated gameplay, and seek to become a member of squad.
3)New attraction for the regulars, squad pride, "minigame".
I am just tossing Ideas out there Guys. I would like to work with a squad of men to improve our overall experience of gameplay. Just think, we could move as a squad from MOD to MoD.

I was just thinking of a "locked squad" night with sign-ups once a week or something you know?
I realise you have In House squads, but we all play in the same server every night, and not one squad is "regular".
What do you guys do together?

Re: Server squads
I'll look to join up with you for a while.
Heck, one thing you would learn really quick is how bad I am at driving. Thus, keeping me out of the driver seat will improve squad performance tremendously.

Re: Server squads
The easiest way to do this would be to temp lock your squad at start and invite back those you enjoyed squading with from the previous round. Get those reliable guys in and then any other slots are open to new faces. Do the same pattern the rest of the night and you'll have yourself a regular squad...you'll surely run into a lot of the same faces night after night and find that a lot of players you had never played with before are very reliable team players.

Re: Server squads
Hey Caged,
Hit up the Team Speak Channel too. We're always in there trying to guilt someone into having it be their TURN to squad lead.
The forums have touched several times on the uber squad effect. Which this is sort of touching on as well.
Mantis' idea is a pretty good one. As I tend to wait til near round start to jump into a squad though... please, open the squad up if you don't fill up, and the round starts. I'll jump in with guys I know, before squads I don't know. : )
and thanks for steppin up to want to SL on a regular basis. : )

I didnt say I wanted to "lead"! Rofl, I just want to have a solid squad to team with that "flowed". The best chance for that is a group that gets to know each others play style from working together. Sure I wouldnt mind "leading" here and there, but I want to be on point too.
A "server war" with drawn teams would be cool.

See, you'll fit in nicely on the Team Speak channel.. : )
I really don't mind Squad Leading, but I do like shootin at stuff too.
I've got fav maps to SL, and some I'd rather not. I tend to Defend cap't flags, and like updates over VOIP, a la "incoming dozer, from the east" sort of thing. and I love squad members that spot first, then shot. mostly so I see little red dots and I can move, and not get myself killed.
the "its Benches turn to Squad Lead" in TS, is sometimes nice to hear... just not all the time boys...
