not sure if the Dev's can do this or not just an idea.

That's similar to the way artillery worked before 1.8. The mobile artillery had two weapon options, a regular dumbfire option and satellite. Initially looking at the satellite view you got a black screen with NO SIGNAL across it.Spec Ops and Assault had field binocs that they could use to both spot far off units and target a spot for artillery, which would then give the arty a far overhead view of thier target. Then they could slowly home in on thier shots. That used to be the only way artillery worked in PoE2. Also, back then IIRC the commander was unable to get into the artillery gunner position.

Yea, but it was buggy and no one ever used Binocs to spot for arty. Not to mention the dreaded "Super Tank". (People getting in the arty and just dumbfiring it like a huge tank at enemies.)

Arty is important if used in an organized attack. The best way to assault flags is timing: arty strikes, bomb runs, then move in the ground forces. Its been an important part of warfare for a long time, and will be for even longer.

I do think the smoke on the mobile arty can be increased though. I never use it because its such a small radius and it lasts only for a second. But i understand what you mean by spammers saitcho. I use the arty but i do try to concentrate fire where my ground forces need it most.
