Drop "Effects" in video settings down a bit.

Re: How much RAM ya running?
Our smoke is unusually hard on fps for some reason.

Re: How much RAM ya running?
This game uses around 1 gig while playing. You need at least 2. More than 2 gigs will make no difference because POE 2 will never use it. People that do a lot of video editing are the ones that need 4 gigs. If you can, check to see what the highest speed ram your motherboard can handle and get two new sticks. The speed and quality of the ram is the important thing.
The grass is greener on the other side, it just never stays that way.

I'm using 1gb and it is serving me pretty well, no complaints so far.

Re: How much RAM ya running?
POE smoke is a FPS drain, but POE smoke actually hides stuff.
I had 6800's in SLI with a 25% overclock and smoke would lag pretty bad. With a single 8800gt, i get no smoke lag at all.

2gb of ram, 6800GT
From my perspective/when smoke is thrown, I appear to be break-dancing, doing The Robot.

I have 2 Gigs, 7800GTX and a little jumpiness with smoke--but it didn't used to slow my computer down at all...Only in the last few months.

Re: How much RAM ya running?
4gb of RAM, Nvidia 7600GS in a dell 4700 (POS), but it runs what it needs to. This summer I hope to upgrade a couple things.
I'd comment on the smoke, but I wouldn't know what was good vs what was crap. BF2 (& POE) is the first game of its sort that I've played. I got the PC and the vid card to have enough power to run NWN 2. BF2 was something I picked up last fall, and I've only ever really played POE. Mosely is the only other person I know near me to compare how things look, and as things seam to be working ok, I've not gotten to the point where I need to go to his house. : )Park Bench

Re: How much RAM ya running?
I used to have serious lag issues with the smoke grenades when I had an 8600gts. I just purchased a 9600gt and I now have not issues at all with smoke grenades. I was lucky and got mine for around $110, but I have seen it for around $140 regularly. I have also seen the 8800gt(g92) for around that price as well though. Keep an eye on www.slickdeals.net and you should be able to find good prices. Also, make sure you have a strong enough power supply.
