    Installing BF2 w/ Vista Problems

My son has purchased BF2 online and is trying to install on Vista. When it starts the object.zip part of the install he gets a catastrophic error. I don't have much experience with Vista. He's wanting to join us in PoE.

    Any ideas or help please.

    Thankee!

I've installed from CD to 4 different Vista boxes with no real issues. and nothing like that one error.

Make sure the run the installation as Administrator (right click the setup.exe and select run as Administrator).

Once installed, right click on the icon and go to the properties window, click on the compatability tab and run in XP SP2 mode and make sure to also select to run as Administrator.

    Do this for TS too.

Asked some other Devs and they feel this response was the correct response. Also could be a bad download.

I think he's gotten a bad download... first he sets as admin...then starts the install... thats when he gets the install crash. We'll try to re-d/load again.

Just in case you don't already know this, delete the content of your Windows\Temp directory and move the original download to another location. Or download the new one to a different location. Don't simply overwrite the original download. This way you get a fresh and completely new download.
