In the spirit of good sportsmanship, I am making a request of the devs and testers on the new maps in v2.5. First, I want to say that I really appreciate the hard work you put into to making this mod. It is top notch. One of the reasons is how much testing and tweaking goes into the maps.

However, on release day, this extensive knowledge of the maps puts the general population at a disadvantage. With the last release, there were a couple of situations when a person with experience used it to rack up some silly scores.

It is not a problem for me to get abused (just ask my wife). Ive been through this and know it is a temporary situation. However, the 2.5 patch will be pulling in some brand new people. I am concerned that if their initial experience with POE is frustrating, they will not be back.

I just want you guys to keep that in mind this weekend. I'm not suggesting that you don't play it, or let people kill you on purpose, but just maybe take a more non-leading role.

I hope I have not offended anyone, that is not my intent. I just want to see the new POE players get a taste of what the mod is really like.

Would you not rather see these people lead squads to help them get a better feel for the new maps?

I'd like to make an appeal to the greater TG population at large: this should bring an influx of new players to the server - lets do everything we can to be welcoming and play with a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. Let's get TG-lead squads going and send invites to some of the new faces. If there's a squad full of TGers and a squad with zero TGers, we've got a problem.

I'm more concerned about things like: taking out AA emplacements with jets from beyond visual range, bombing spawn points/vehicle spawns/AA assets from memory, sniping with the AMRs, that sort of thing.

I'm unfamiliar with the new maps but I'm not scared.

Me either, but I have seen what Mr. McFeel me is describing.

As we all know, the more players returning to the server, the better. Anything to forge fun on your fine server / newbie mentoring will help keep the new guys coming back.

Hell - I'll even lay off on squatting on the faces of cadavers for a while.

I like watching goat get teabagged. I rarely tag him so that is my way of living vicariously through others.

On the other subject, I personally think TG'ers should take lead. Should help acclimate us Map newbies to the lay of the land. I found this helped when I started playing POE early on.
