Tank Bug

Is anyone else experiencing a tank bug especially in the UKR tanks? I was firing away in the T-84 and never once did i register a hit. It very well could be my lack of accuracy but?? Also, are the HUDs operational or just for looks would be my other question. It would be really helpful if a person very experienced in Tanks could chime in on this topic and maybe give a few tips on aiming this metal monster.

Since the new hit indicator has added some visual feedback I have been wondering about the same topic. I have also experienced what I thought was the tank bug where I visually am close enough to see that I am aiming at the tank but I do not get any hit indication and do not seem to create damage. I was always under the impression that if you were within a reasonable distance that the round would fire with minimal drop. I thought that Saitcho said in a previous post that you could get deflection based on the angle. Not sure.

What kind of pings are you guys getting? This sounds a lot like netcode issues (where you see something on your screen that isn't what the server is seeing) due to packetloss.

While that doesnt preclude packetloss, it sure makes it seem a lot less likely.

I would be interested in hearing if this is something that can be repeated often or if it is just an occasional 'freak' occurance. Not too sure what to say other than that. This is something we attempted to address in this version and our internal testing showed that it had worked as we had intended.

This post, while a bit older shows the areas of the tank collision meshes, perhaps it could explain part of the issue? (the post is from after our 2.1 release)

I had some problems firing at distance also...mainly horizon shots. No register of hits and I noticed when they would fire back they were missing me more than hitting....could it be an aiming versus's drop issue?

I'm pretty sure its still there.:/ I've had quite a few 'issues' in the oplot so far. Haven't used the leopard much yet.

i know at a distance i can't hit anything i was shooting at eflight last night and had to ask him over team speak if any of my hit were hitting him.. i shoot 5 times and no hit on my hud as you can't see the shot anymore with the flash.. he told me 2 went high and 2 hit not sure where the 5th went... i think it will have to be something we have to keep an eye on..

i have noticed also that i would get in a tank and not even be able to shoot infantry with heap but if i jump out and get back in i would fix its self..

I know the zoom is nerfed a bit in the dozor/dingo but has the fire power been nerfed also?

I haven't used tanks much yet this version but I think the new smoke effect and HUD is contributing to it. The time I did spend in tanks I got very few hits it seemed like. I think the hit indicator might be bugged as well because in a few mid range battles I got no indicators but the enemy tank backed off like he had been damaged. I will have to spend some time with tanks today and see.

Its interesting that people are seeing two different things when these shots occur (I normally don't get feedback from the person on the other end of the shot so I haven't heard this before). That leads me to think its a network issue again.

Good to hear the info (even if its bad info) so keep the observations coming. I think with Matador being the beast that it is, we will get plenty of data about the issue.

i can tell you from first hand experience (LOL) that, i have been taken out by 2 shots to the front of my t-84 at a reasonable distance way more than once.

Being used to the old sights and now having to learn which part of the MASSIVE crosshair on the oplot to aim with is contributing to my frustration for sure. Even the tank with a circle with no dot for a cross hair is better because I assume it fires in the center of the circle. Does the oplot fire on the tip of the arrow? The middle? Who knows... the giant plume of smoke knows.

I have taken a number of shells with no damage.

Do deflections give a hit indicator? Do they always do damage or can they deflect for no damage?

I was always under the impression that all tank shells had a chance of deflecting off the sides of the tank, only taking a few bars of tank health.. I mean as part of the game engine.

Didnt we go over all this once during a test night on Oman?

I know I have been hit by shells that did no, to one bars worth of damage.. I never said anything more about it. Just assumed the enemy were using the wrong ammo.

Tonight I was getting double teamed by the enemy, nice work so the ammo is not broken.
.. and I know I miss, and I know there is lag and what not.. but I couldnt hit the barn from three hundred yards, but, Ihad no idea if the shots were going high or low because of muzzle flash... watched teammates firing at enemy, and missing by miles.

maybe, just need more practice.
