Really wanted to check POE 2 out but...

I recently upgraded the home system with Vista Biz 32 w/ 4gb of ram and can NOT get BF2 to install at all.

I checked the comp mod for WINXP and also run as admin but still no joy whatsoever!

If anyone can lend some encouraging words my way it would be greatly appreciated since the EA forums dont help at all.

    What error did you get?

Does Vista Biz have DirectX installed by default?

Yes it does. In fact I am running all the latest updates for Vista and the two Nvidia 9600gtx in SLi.

The error was could not create the file directory due to the software was not configured to run in anything other than WINXP.

Thats why I went back and checked the tab for run in winxp compatability mode.

I got that error when installing BF2 on Vista Ultimate, but I just hit okay and told it where to install. Not sure how I did that though

Don't you have to run the install as "admin" or something... I think thats what my son had to do get it to install......

Glad i'm still an XP junkie

If this thread doesn't produce a solution for you don't hesitate to post at the official poe2 forums. They are pretty quick on helping sort out issues:

I can confirm that BF2 does work on vista (32 and 64 bit), so don't give up.

Yeah I had it installed just fine with Vista Ultimate. Hazmat can you perhaps provide some screenshots on the errors you are getting?

    POEs works on Vista.

When you're in the properties window, select "run as admin".

And if you didn't do this for the install - then reinstall - but right-click the setup.exe and select "run as admin" too.

BTW - do the same thing for TS too.
