Re: So I had this idea ..... fer a map
Don't forget about Millinocket Maine. It was just called Ocket untill the paper mill was built and people refered to the town as the mill-in-ocket. I went to school with a guy from there and he swears its true.

thats interesting, I hadn't heard that.
what cracks me up now... when in conversation with a central mainer:
me - "thats a nice shirt where'd you get that."
central mainer - "I got it ovah-da-walmaht." translates to over to walmart. what sort of english is that? I'll check into the Millinocket thing. I was born in Skowhegan, which is Abanaki for "place to stop and look". I just assumed Millinocket was Abanaki or other native america.
sources say:
Millinocket, meaning "the land of many islands" after all the islands in the Penobscot River (and having nothing to do with the mill), was incorporated on March 16, 1901.
the other story is more clever.

Re: So I had this idea ..... fer a map
One of my roommates when I was in the Army was from Maine... I used to drive him crazy when he'd tell me something and I'd always reply "Huh"....hahahah.
I'd make him put the Texas Draw on his sentences with the excuse it was the only way I could understand what he was telling me. Of course it was still the Maine accent but just way slower which made it funnier.
Texan: Corn
Maine: Keern

Re: So I had this idea ..... fer a map
kk update i guess.... i'm starting to think of the layout for a TG Spoof map.
Everybody can't have a flag so i'll be chosing the three people that I can theme out the capture area according to what we find from their humor or how they've screwed up then told us for a laugh. There will also be vehicles for use at hidden locations, you'll have to learn the map to find them. I'm not sure how the balance will work out considering what I'm putting in, but rest assured there will be suprises and some serious WTF's. Its fer fun and will make no sense.....There will be statics themed to people also, this is gonna take some custom texturing but ehh its worth it.
Vehicles will be the norm except for a few I want to add for the map....don't even ask cuz I won't tell you...heh
Just think chaos, meat grinding, mosh pit of fun. Be patient, it'll take awhile but i've got Greasy's brain to pick at when needed.....yea suffer bro!

Re: So I had this idea ..... fer a map
Every day I pass by this Big K's sign on the way to work and wonder if their burgers are really that great. There is always a line out the door and I would like to try it, but I hear they don't have any seats in there and I'm too lazy to stand up and eat. Have any of you guys actually eaten there?
Don't have enough posts under the belt to embed it...

All the seats are in the bathroom... because that is where they are needed most after eating there!

Re: So I had this idea ..... fer a map
see I figured there were no seats cause York was in the TLAM, and you wouldn't want to even try and sit or be stationary for too long. gotta eat on the run.
the way most nights go, in TS anyway... feels like there will be K's burgers then bar, after bar, after bar, bar.

Ya can't get us all Goat! If you try, it'll be 2014 before you get it done.
Oh, Mr. Twinkles says "Twinkles' Casino" with a giant 1960's-Vegas-style moving neon billboard of himself is all he wants...
