Re: Scrim signups open!!
A bump and few notes.
To any voyeurs out there or those still new to the community please be aware of the following.
- You don't need to be a TG member to signup. All we ask is that you are fully aware of our server rules and read the signup carefully to make sure you know what to do and what to expect.
- You don't need to have voip to signup. While we do a rollcall on teamspeak the admins will be more than happy to take a text note through teamspeak stating that you are present. Just make a quick note about this in your signup.
- Don't hold back signing up because you think the pressure will be high and you may not perform well. This is a community scrim...its all just for fun.
To all our regulars here, we could use your help this weekend and the days leading up to the scrim. To ensure a solid player count for the 64 player maps we are going to play we could use at least 10 more signups. I am confident this could easily be achieved by targeting server regulars you don't see on our forums much. There are a lot of them out there and I'm sure quite a few would be interested if they knew about this event. A few simple questions such as following will go a long way. "Hey X are you signed up for the scrim for Sept 14th?" or "Mr X, did you know TG is having a community scrim on the 14th? You should signup, it should be a ton of fun!" This in turn will drive more regulars to our forum which helps build the community in the long run.

Re: Scrim signups open!!
I'd love to but the time stinks for me. If I stranded my wife with our 4 daughters at 3pm I'd be a dead man.

Trying to decide if I'm really interested in joining a scrim.

Assuming the timing isn't an issue, why wouldn't you be? Take the server at its best during normal play and that still wouldn't touch the quality of play you'll find during a scrim.

Re: Scrim signups open!!
As Bernout said, there is NO comparison to normal server play. I have had a few one point fallen rounds that I still remember from nights past, but I feel like I remember all the scrim rounds I have played. I have never reached that level of intensity during my <put some big number in here that I am probably embarassed to print> hours spent playing on the server.
My pits are sweaty just thinking about it.

2 cases of red bull + six pack of Jolt Cola + Speed Stick for Project = scrim adrenaline - b.o.
You are right again sir, the scrim rush lasts for hours, sometimes days.

The last event organizer... that's who.
Ribbons is still awaiting player lists from the TG vs TG scrim in March and the FFTF scrim.

Re: Scrim signups open!!
I'd especially encourage the newbies and people who haven't done it before to sign up.
Even if you're new to BF2 or POE, here's an opportunity to play with experienced players in a structured game where you can see what the whole teamwork thing is about. Don't worry about a lack of mad skillz, experience, or how long you've played with TG, sign up and give it a shot.

Re: Scrim signups open!!
Since im kinda new here, could you tell me more about the scrims? How roles get assigned for example? Who decides whos going to play in which team or be sl/sm/co?
And the most important for me, who gets to fly?
I was thinking about signing up as a pilot because with my european ping im not really good in infantry combat. If i couldn't be in some flying thing i would still play though, im very interested to see tg gameplay at it's best.

Well, I already have three...or am supposed to anyway *cough*, but I wouldn't turn down having another floating out in the electronic aether.
I'm signed up, will CO a round.
