It has worked fine before. Maybe PoE did something to it?

Re: PR kills PoE2?!

Two accounts should work fine. When the POE server crashed last night I noticed problems with ammo reloading and a little of the blurring. It happened after POE crashed and not PR so I do not know if it was just a coincidence or not. I uninstalled PR and then unistalled/reinstalled POE and everything seems fine. I will load PR back and use a separate account.

Re: PR kills PoE2?!

PR kills itself..... .8 is a buggy, released b4 it was ready for anyone update. I can actually get in the game but only for a little while then it crashes me with either corrupted packets or the damn shader zip.... and yes, i've done all the resolutions they say will fix it..... Luckily it hasnt broke my PoE. They have ruined a great "get ur shovel and build a bunker" game......
Reminds me of Planetside every time they updated it....gets worse and worse! I'll keep it around and will wait and see if they can fix what they have messed up. I don't think its punkbusters fault at all on this one. I think they have overloaded their backsides on the content and all the custom coding they have done......

So you're saying they're taking the EA BF2 approach of breaking it every patch that comes?

It's good! Much better than any of the previous versions I've tried. It's evolved to a point where it's not really BF2 any more... much more immersive and ... well... realistic

No cross hairs, no minimap, no score... nothing on the HUD - just you your squad and your rifle - it's a good change of pace once in a while

Re: PR kills PoE2?!

I'll post some pics either at lunch today or this evening.....ones pretty interesting, it made a whole building disappear. Rockford got on the second floor for me and I Print Screened it. Also some of the other buildings went into "texturing hell".

I really would like for it to work. It has changed alot and i'm really having a good time (right up to the point where it burps) then it crashes. After scouring the net, theres scores and scores of people complaining about the crashes. Seems alot of them base on the MD5 tools and the shader_client.zip. I'll keep trying to find a fix.
It makes a nice alternative to PoE for me. In PR you can slow your gun and run down a bunch.

Please keep posting your experiences! I haven't played PR since they dropped the mini-map but I have the 0.8 files downloaded and ready to install. Eventually here I'll pull the trigger and give it a go at which point it would be good to know what to watch out for.

Re: PR kills PoE2?!

Guys PR, so far to me, has had NO BUGS maybe a glitch here and there, where you get stuck in a rock. But, PB is a pain in the ass on the best of days. All you have to do is either:

1. My Computer/ C: Drive/ Program Files/ EA Games/ Battlefield 2

Then delete the folder "pb"

Then run "pbsetup" (You will have to download it from here)

Make sure in the program you have BF2 selected, Click Check for updates.

Then your golden

OR

2. Run PnkBstrB.exe before starting PR

My Computer/ C: Drive/ Program Files/ EA Games/ Battlefield 2/ pb/ PnkBstrB.exe

Easy as that. Should fix ANY PB problem you have been encountering. Let me know if it helped.

I looked around the forums and can't find anything for a fix. I do not intend to be lazy buuuuut, does anybody know of a fix for the "auto reload" issue?
I reinstalled POE but I still have the problem and I am thinking I may need to patch 1.41 again.
